I mean as someone who plays on ps5 the game is a great step up from the original as we no longer have to pay for each map so saved me money and also the addition of mods on console has made the game way more bearable also the commands to turn down the graphics makes the game still look better than the original yet still being able to run perfectly fine only crashing when I binge play for 8 hours + which happenes on almost any game not to mention the bobs tales dlc being absolutely amazing as I am now playing ab and having a much better time on Asa than I would ase so I personally I’d say it’s worth getting

The building is so much better, the map is what I find the most upgrade as ASEs map had accuracy problems and often i found my own player marker, or any markers, not working. I do miss the older supply drops, the older death markers and ASA still has optimization issues but overall its harder for me to play ASE again now.
Imo no, not yet at least. Its still a mess. I personally am waiting till at LEAST gen 1 is released but so far i keep hearing overall negative things about it. Evolved is still the better of the two despite the QOL changes they did in ASA that i wish was in evolved.

i have 1000 hours in ASA now and so far im loving it. i can live with the low frames in mid/high (i have a 3070 ti) as im so used to play games on a shitty "gaming" laptop. i love the new looks and imo the QOL changes and the new content are worth it. also i did buy the pyromane and i kinda like it. im glad they nerfed it though and i did disable ab spawns for it on my server. but i can understand if people dont want it in the game. i also think its kinda shitty that it spawns even if you dont own it. but at least there are ini settings and mods that completely disable the spawn also a recent decision from wild made me believe that they never really wanted P2W stuff like this. Bobs tall tales includes the trait system and there is a mod that gives access to that system even if you dont own the DLC and wildcard did say they allow that mod to continue. sooo maybe a bit of a reach but it almost feels like Snail forced them to make these decisions to get more money out of ASA

I have to cap my FPS at 20 (40 in reality but the game runs 2x the frames of the menus) My Dad used to play but even with a laptop possessing a 4050, it’s a very poor experience. The fact that lowering the games graphics actively breaks fur and textures is very frustrating. You have to play this game on high. I don’t mind “Bobs tall tales” or the “Pyromane”, but the fact that we’re in early access for a remake of a game Wildcard already coded, and it runs this poorly is unacceptable. It’s because of this that I can’t recommend it while ASE runs so much better with lower hardware requirements.
@@Dylan-li5vv the max frame rate setting is for when you’re in menus. When you’re running around shooting things, it’s actually 2x. So I’m really playing at 40fps.
In my experience on the Xbox Series X, it is 100% worth it. Slap on a performance mod that disables clouds and other useless effects and you will never crash. In fact, I have not crashed since May of 2024. My singleplayer game has saved every single time. I get between 40-60 fps reliably, and can play with the mods I desire. It has been an improvement in almost every way in my exprience. Oddly enough, I also appreciate the foliage spam. I was at first against it as it just tanks performance & was a lazy attempt at adding atmosphere, but when I went back to ASE just to look around, It all just looked barren to me. I hope UE 5.4's implementation is successful and we get that 20% performance boost as promised.... that would be huge. Also, I personally almost never notice the lighting and shadow flickering. That's probably due to how much I play.... but I digress. Would recommend for console users.
I have found ASA to be a lot more stable, it runs smoother, it has far fewer issues with traveling around on rafts/boats. I have to wonder where the issues are running this game, it looks and runs great for me. Obviously that's anecdotal, but it's hard for me to see past my experiences on this. I'm running a 4 year old computer, that was about $1100 during the height of pandemic supply chain struggles. I feel like every time I hear people complain about how it looks and runs they're just stuck in this "I have to run at full specs!" mindset, which is just such a toxic idea. The trade off of having a PC is that your rig may not be able to run the game on full specs.

I know the game is unoptimized, and I think I made it clear in my initial statement that I don't care about that argument, how is it affecting gameplay when people are running the game at graphic levels their rig can handle? In my experience, at that level the game is running way better than ASE was, on so many levels. It still looks better than ASE as well at low specs too, so it's not like you can argue that people are getting a worse graphical experience. I think people are just looking for reasons to be mad at Wildcard on this one. Which is fair, I just don't think it's as bad as all this doom speaking content creators are doing these days. Which, I get that outrage sells, but I don't think it's honest. I think it also eventually dies out because eventually people get tired of being angry, I certainly have. There's still things I don't like about ASA, but it's a way better experience than ASE was, and I wouldn't go back. Obviously this is all from my own anecdotal experience, but I am not getting arguments addressing what I'm actually saying.
I cant believe it, Series x comes out and Finally Evolved runs great on console, Ascended comes put, Island is rough but alright, Scorched earth is slightly better, But Abberation is unplayable
I been watching ASA content since it dropped, and haven't seen anything that really grabbed me as "I must have this!" There's still a lot of creatures I have yet to tame on ASE, so new creatures aren't a huge draw for me. I'm sure the maps look better, but compare the original island map to Lost Island and you see the maps getting better every year. Adding more floating rocks isn't a huge draw and neither is the constant cash grab with expansion packs, paid mods and paid creatures.
I play PS5 and Have played both games for thousands of hours and ASA has a substantially better building system. I play Ark much like Minecraft meaning it’s an artistic medium and ASA is a big quality upgrade. If I played Ark like I do COD a meta driven skill test simulation then I’d say ASA isn’t a worthy change.
Played 5 hours on my old Evolved aberration then played 5 hours on ASA Aberration…….no, it’s not worth it considering they butchered arks best map. The only map I’d consider worth ASA is funnily enough, Scorched Earth. 👌 Beatuiful map.
i run a 3070 and the game gets about 20fps(at 1080p) on ultra i know ultra is ment for a ultra high end cards but you would expect better than ase graphics on decent hardware 60fps on a 3090 is a joke last year that card would run most games ultra at 120fps at 4k ark runs like shit. without dlaa the game looks way to soft aswell
Hell yes i love asa it looks beautiful i have great frames the new creatures are fun and all the maps look so good in asa and the built in mods are amazing you get all maps for free its so much better then ase because its literally a upgrade of ase of course its gonna be better

Nah its worth it. Being able to actually play mods on consoles makes it better than the og imo. Plus the free dlc are nice

Hi was considering buying this but only running msi rtx 3060 i7 10700k 32gbram not sure if this is good enough any advice if am right or wrong
