So appreciate this video. I am currently contemplating a career change, it was nice to see someone with a non-science background excelling in nursing. I love how humble she is, didn't even say she went to John Hopkins!
Stanford Bone Marrow Transplant is an incredible hospital, high expertise, patients are going into a fight for their lives and to many of them can make it, other ones not unfortunately, in that place they help patients in a unique way, all the medical staff, doctors nurses, etc. are working hard to help saving lives. I was a witness about the job they do, that's why I decide to change my career and to study a second career to become an Oncology Nurse, I am working on it right now, thank you for sharing this impressive video, best!
Great video! I am starting a Nursing Internship position on an oncology floor. I wasn't sure what to expect but this video was a great sneak peak into what my experience will be like.
0:13 What do Oncology nurses do? 1:21 What does a day in the life look like? 2:26 What does your week look like? 3:08 What's the most challenging part about being a nurse? 4:21 How did you become a nurse?
This is a great video, really enjoyed it. Do you feel you’re at risk because of the chemo drugs and different cancer meds administered? New grad nurse here and thank you for posting.
Welcome to the world of nursing! Will you be working in oncology as well? I am probably more exposed to chemo than other specialties but with the proper PPE, I think it isn't to a point where I'm as worried. I think the precaution standards have really increased so that we are not exposed.
Caroline Lee Chemo nurses are incredible ☺️ I am not currently in oncology, I work on Med-Surg. I was just curious about that (the exposure). Thank you for the kind welcoming words by the way and thank you for responding.
Caroline Lee Hi Caroline, would you be able to give me some tips and advice on getting into a good nursing school/program? I have many questions & I’m interested in making a career change. You can also contact me through my IG: @yesmiri
I always wanted to be an oncology nurse, and actually I'm a survivor. & Ironically my zodiac sign is cancer too😂😂 don't tell me it's not fate😂😂 anyway I really loved this video 🙏
