I’m ecstatic that I found this video. I worked as a hem/onc LPN. I’m now an RN and accepted a PACU residency. I am regretting it. I am meant to be a hem/onc nurse. It’s my passion and my calling. More importantly, I want to become an NP. This video has helped me in many ways.
Nurse for 14yrs, OCN, & Oncology chemo RN for 12. Im currently doing the BSN-DNP adult-gero primary care & Oncology program. Im very passionate about malignant-heme and I recently applied for acute-care post masters because i want to manage CRS & ICANS in acute care setting for patients on Car-T and BiTe tx. I hope Im doing the right thing. I got my masters and primary care cert (while in the program) & im currently doing Onco 3 and will sit for aocnp in May 2024, then start my acute care np in the summer on top of my DNP and I know it will be a lot but my malignant heme patients inspire me! I left the hospital 4 years ago and started giving chemo in an outpatient setting while in NP school but like you I am a hospital girl. Thanks for sharing this.
Depends on what setting you want to treat. But as an umbrella, Acute care would offer you the ability to round in the hospital or work in the clinic (just no kids).
@@BreeJuskowiak I do not know why your comment did not show up to me. I was watching your vids, found this and my question! Thank you for the reply! I love your channel the most.
I'm an oncology nurse looking to become an oncology NP. I'm wanting to stay in the hospital like she is. Would an ACNP path be the right direction for that?
Hi Bree! I am a new cardiac icu nurse, prior cardiac tele nurse! I love the icu so far, I feel like I found my niche. My issue is when on my tele floor I wanted a change and thought FNP school was the best choice. Now I love the icu and have been super interested in the acute care np route… any advice?
If you had to choose right now what your dream job would look like which path would it be? Do that. Who knows where that will take you. The overwhelm comes when you think too may steps into the future. Will I still like acute care in 5-10 years??? Well, who knows where you will be then. Other opportunities may have come up that fulfill you within the acnp arena. You can also work clinic or sub specialty with acnp, you’re not stuck in a hospital.
So I will be attending college in the fall for NP. I narrowed down between oncology and cardiology. After this cardiology will be my choice! Ugh no drilling 🤮
Thank you for this interview! I'm about to start my onco NP position this month. I am both excited and nervous.

That’s wonderful! Welcome! Hope you make your way back to your passion.
Great interview! I've been in Cardiology for 2 years, and Oncology keeps nudging me. Thank you!

Awesome video!! I like her!
Can I ask which NP program would be the best to become an oncology nurse practitioner? Thank you in advance!

@@BreeJuskowiak I can’t help it lol. I have assessed multiple large open areas, incisions, etc. as a nurse but I don’t ever want to hear a drill lol
I agree, it’s literally the worst thing you can do to a human being. 😂
Is she married?
No but she is spoken for😉
@@BreeJuskowiak I'm an acute care NP practicing as PCCM, and I usually manage the neuro ICU. Would love to meet her someday
@@BreeJuskowiak oh God no not her - you
