    The blind spot monitoring light on the mirror is in the exact place that it should be. Some engineer had the same complaint about where they are typically located on most vehicles on the outer edge of the mirror itself. On my Palisade it's out of my peripheral vision and my focus area when I'm quickly glancing at a mirror. It simply does not catch my eye as well as it should. Subaru...two friggin thumbs up! It's the first thing you see as you're looking over and not the last.

    • @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
      @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Agreed! The BSD light on the mirror surface is silly placement and makes it hard to see if the sun is behind you or if there is any sort of bright light behind you shining in the mirror.

      @@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist And by the way, FANTASTIC video going over all the small details in the interior. I'm in the market for a vehicle of this size and so far the Forester Sport is at the top of my list after having researched just about every other option in this class out there. Sure, there are more powerful and even more fancy available, but where the Subaru might lack in some areas it makes up for in functionality. Physical buttons everywhere! (Looking at you Kia, Hyundai and VW!) That really sold me putting this car at the top. I'm on the fence about going hybrid just yet for fear of future unknown costs, and while every company is trending that direction it's still hard to beat a very capable gas AWD vehicle that pushes past 30 MPG.

    I'm pondering between a few cars, but Subaru is on my short list. However, Subaru has its own list as I'm considering between the Forester Wilderness/Sport, or maybe even the recently announced CrossTrek Wilderness just today on April 5.
    I really like the added utility of the Wilderness, but not keen on the 5 mpg drop from the Wilderness. I wonder if the Sport would be enough, and it probably is and will save money in the process. But I also tow a little, a motorcycle maybe 2 motorcycles, and try to stay within the 80/20 rule for towing, as the trailer would be 800lbs, and 1 bike would be 400lbs. 2 bikes 800lbs. I could probably get away with 1 bike but not 2 on the Sport. But I've seen the Wilderness can tow 3000lbs while the Crosstrek Wilderness can tow 3500lbs.
    But the Sport is also considerably less than the Wilderness. I dont know, there are some things I need, some I don't.
    I do actually prefer the most all terrain oriented wheels and tires from the Wilderness than on the sport. I would rather have more cushioning for the rougher roads. I don't tow often, I want to know I can if I need to.

    • @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
      @TysonTheSubaruSpecialist  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're only occasionally going to be towing and fuel economy is important to you, the Sport is likely the way to go. You can always upgrade the tires, or try to trade with another Subaru Forester owner for their 17's.
      Or, if you're concerned about towing capacity while still holding great economy - an Outback might suit your needs.

    Shame it has a trash transmission, wonder what they'll do when they're no longer manufactured?

      I highly doubt that they'll stop making CVT's, lots of brands have embraced it and are continuing to produce them.

    1:11 I do not like the rims, I have never been a fan of black rims, they just look to small.

      To each their own.
      I'd rather have the smallest rim available and the largest amount of tire/rubber, but that's not for everyone.

      @Moondoggy1941 I'd prefer it, even if I lived in a city with good roads, but I'm also into 4x4ing and going off the beaten path.
      I think giant rims look silly in general, but especially when people put them on trucks with low-profile mud terrain tires.
      Like I said, "to each their own," and I meant it. You're allowed to not like black rims because they always look smaller, and I'm allowed to have a differing opinion - neither of us is right, neither of us is wrong.

    Crazy that they put that weak engine in this car. It needs a turbo or more capable engine imo.

      182hp is fairly par for the course in the same category. I'd love to see a turbo back in the Forester, but I'd say that it's far from weak.

      @@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist yea I guess my comment was more towards the class than forester itself. The 2023 models of non turbo outback, forester, CRV, CX-50(non turbo) all have under 200HP yet are advertised as adventure cars(which for many meaning mountains and towing)

      Only 5% of Forester owners bought the XT. That’s why Subaru dropped it.
      The 2.5L is adequate. It does just fine in my Touring.
      We live in a very mountainous area of north central WA state and it will scoot when needed.

      @@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Perhaps it’s because of my vision issues.
      My wife chose the Cinnamon Brown for her Outback. I wanted her to get the Crimson Red, but she likes the dark brown 🤮 and it’s her car and I bought it for her 50th birthday.
      My Forester is Sephia Bronze with saddle brown interior. Her interior is Ivory.
      I would have preferred a white, crimson red, green or brilliant bronze myself, but my Forester was a Certified Subaru with only 4,700 miles and Carter Subaru in Shoreline, WA gave me an awesome deal on it.
      My Forester will probably be the last car I’ll ever need to buy
