You prefer much said my thoughts about the game so far & I've never played any of the SAO games before. I played the Closed Beta earlier this year & I really enjoyed what I played. It gave me PSO2 vibes; which is what I've been wanting the SAO games to be like. I'll admit that Kirito is the least fun character to play as (he's more like your basic learning character), but I believe the many cosmetic drops we'll be getting in the game will make each player look distinctive from each other. Another issue I also had with the beta was the lack of modes, but hopefully the full game has plenty of bosses & modes for it to stay consistent.
I still wish we could create our own character, or at least copy our created character from FB, put them in FD, and re-level them up starting from level 1.
Last recollection left a very sour taste for me. Bought the Deluxe Edition just to be greeted with 2 garbage DLCs later then they abandoned the game like trash. So yeah, I'll just wait for a huge sale and "maybe" I'll give it a try.
You are missing out. Hands down best action packed game after dragon dogma 2. So worth it. Play the beta before its over you will see. Only fown side right now its the camera when doing the boss raid. Cause you have to know when to lock in and out so you don't attack air.

Now, the story might do some different things with him from what I’ve seen in thumbnails on Bamco’s TH-cam channel, but that’s about it. What you see will literally be what you get.

@@Yogo.Gaming so as far as we know for base game it has boss rush (u just fight a boss), co-op Quest, where u do a missions in 2 maps, then fight a boss on the 3rd map, then free mode which is just the maps but with no lock or time limit, so u can just mess around ko stuff, explore the map etc no real OBJ more a mindless grind for loot i dont know if this one will give fat exp if u spend an hour in it XD
To prevent the open world from becoming NPC driven dead content, they should add mythic-tier keys that drop at a low rate from bosses, and the drop rate scale with the boss level to incentivize full clearing the open world. The mythic tier keys could then be used to unlock one time use dungeon instances and wouldn’t be tradeable among players. Mythic loot would be guaranteed, and would have a state equivalent to the level + 10 and stats scaled accordingly.
How do the cosmetic drops work from the bosses? I killed the Kobold 50+ because I wanted the hat but I never saw anything in rewards, or dropped besides the weapons/accessories that ppl scrambled to pick up (tho I think they are shared and doesn't matter who picks them up)
I got burned out pretty quick too and it’s not cause the lack of content, it’s the combat. It feels too clunky/stiff even if there’s an option to swap out abilities in the full game the light- heavy combos feel rough. I was hoping they’d copy the pso2ngs system it would’ve been perfect. Also I don’t think they’re doing themselves any favors by releasing the game right next to sparking zero.
I feel this. Too many times as leafa would I go to do a combo and I'd completely whiff bosses or enemies. Thus forcing me to lock on and even then with poor camera controls enabled with lock on, I'd still whiff sometimes. Basic combos feel bad and there isn't much freedom with them. Plus hit boxes and some boss attacks cannot be seen. It's bad
If they were going to make custom characters a thing in this game, they would have marketed the feature with 100% certainty. So there is no way unfortunately.
I really like the different landscapes representing the different VR worlds of SAO, plus adding some of the monsters from the series be they from the anime or light novel. Looking forward to seeing all that comes out from this game
Tell ya what, V, maybe it's just me being old but I feel like I got some major franchise fatigue now. I'm lucky to boot up Fatal Bullet once every few months if that due to how much gear I got during the grinding years so I have no need to dive in - let alone how mediocre Lycoris was after I did the story once, cant really say anything from there on because that's the last gameverse title I played. I will give FD props for the visuals though since Dimps is back on board but the flying mechanics of Accel World vs SAO will always be king in my books. Only thing I been looking forward to lately is the next GGO anime starting next month, be grabbing that BD when it comes out ^_^ Not going to do any pre-ordering this time around though, not a fan of having the FB characters essentially paywalled unless I've read it wrong, hm.
Unfortunately they’re paywalled, I would’ve hoped more fatal bullet characters would be base roaster for rangers, but I see why they pay walled it since they’re gonna be kind of main characters in season 2

The game is absolutely not like Fatal Bullet. Its more akin to Granblue Fantasy Relink, but with a bigger focus on raids and a less fluid/freeform combat system. I desperately hope that every character has alternative abilties that you can equip. Because as you already said in the video, the games does tend to get stale quickly. I dont really care too much about a custom charater, because similar games to it also didnt do it. However they counted that by giving the characters a big degree of customization (gameplay and visuals). So i hope this game also does it. Another gripe i have with the game is the combat. Hands down they need to let us animation cancel way more often than that. Because right now the combat feels incredibly stiff. Im not asking for dmc or bayonetta levels of fluidity, but it cant be that deliberate games like dark souls flow better with their combat than this. Also the lock on system sucks, big time. it tends to jump between enemies a lot, which can fuck up your Switch prompt if you are unlucky.
a little tip about switch locked enemies by accident, you can change settings to r1+analog direction instead of just the analog. This helped me a lot to not switch around targets constantly by accident
I think the way forward with Co-op is to have rotating cosmetics drop from there similar to how Kirito got his beater cloak in the anime. It will keep people coming back but not take away from anything for the people that just want the gameplay of the boss fights. Everybody loves their FOMO cosmetics. As long as they all come back eventually and it's not a one and done forever thing, because nothing sucks more than waiting for a certain character's gear for months only to have something come up or bad rng and miss it forever.
How do the cosmetic drops work? I never got any after like 50+ boss kills. Is it first to pick it up or only one person can see it if it happens. I would just like confirmation on how you get them. I really wanted the hat
What the hell are the camera controls? Middle mouse was set to reset. It practically did nothing. The leveling notification blocked vital information to the game. The keybindings menus is only set to primary controls. (Understandable this is going to be released on switch-steamdeck) I'm going to ask they optimize for PC users. There is a lot of things missing. Why can't they disable ALT key / Windows Key by default. How many times did I alt-tab? Anyways I would love to see a better camera control for every play style.
Ngl i wish it functioned more like alicization lycoris. I know lots of people didnt like that game but personally that game was the most fun for me Regarding raids: having to level up everytime felt lame. The fights themselves were fine, but there was often too much going on for me to be able to see much. I also would like to see more boss mechanics. The co-op quests are kinda lame. The idea is good but what it turns into is the players with high mobility characters rush ahead and kill everything, and youre just left following and picking up the damage boosts and levels.
I just saw that Lisa is a katana use it right I like the fact that they didn't make the katana overly big like they did in other previous SAO games it looks normal The stance looks correct and it doesn't look all like scratchy every time they attack yeah I'm pretty much liking this I can't wait to play I wish I got into the beta

Stretching thin is exactly how you should be playing,1 team of 4 can handle any objective (maybe 2 for the final objective before the boss) while the other players spread around the map looting the golden chests by slaying the level 30 mobs,getting bumped up to lv23-25 as a result & then joining the players to push the last objective if they haven’t finished already
I thought Kirito was really boring at the beginning too. Until I found out that if you know how to time his hold triangle he can basically combo forever and link all of his specials even in the air. Now he’s my favorite in the beta easily. Hope the updates for this game are handled better than some anime games so it doesn’t die after two weeks.
game might be good if we have deeper customization I've the feeling that these 3 skills every character has are set in stone and that would be a super big downer for me, but so far whats in the stresstest, if thats just the core of the game, it will die so lightning fast
yea I agree, it'll definetely get boring quick if all the characters only have 3 fixed skills. I mean sure, players will most likely stick to the best 3 skills to optimize damage in the long run, but haveing other options for fun and diversity would be nice too
I agree or if we still have the fixed skills to upgrade or change them like idk make an ability do fire damage instead of water or whatever the original abilities element is
a skill tree and other ways of customization are things they should have put in there since the beggining cause it's a pve game after all, if people get bored with dozens of things to do in games I can only imagine how much time it will take if the game is purely about farming gear with clones of you all around and fixed skills 😂, I doubt they would redo everything just to change that, game feels very 2012 to me.
I definitely agree with your review in almost every way. Its not a fatal bullet 2, but it is a step in the right direction as an SAO game imo. I only played for a few hours, but I definitely felt like the game was starting to get repetitive by the end of my session, I hope that's just because it's a beta. I hope that they'll have a different mode where you don't have to unlock skills in battle and you just can be really strong. Maybe make it like xenoverse Quests where you can pick 1 star or 7 star bosses to fight? Your idea for Kirito is definitely what they should do, either make him fully customizable, or have a Kirito from every single series cause that would be super fun. Llenn is my favorite character so far, but if they made a ggo Kirito who plays exactly like Fatal Bullet, he'd probably be my main easily. Didn't mean for this to be a long comment, but I can definitely see my myself playing this from time to time. I wish it didn't come out a week before Sparking Zero, cause I'm way more hype for that then this. I think I'll still buy day one and would be down to join a discord and play sometimes if you do make one.
What? I have already seen my game play change because I ranked up. Now the starting mission is different. Ex. Now I get scorting mission before it leads to the second stage before the boss fight. 😂😂
@@jj4life015 i get it, but its just beta . The full game will have other maps and way more quest. Not to mention only a fraction of the characters you can pick. I dont mind these grind if there is a change in the fights. Every weapon change and enhancement I saw a change in my combo effects and how many breakers we got. But not everyone likes the grind though I get it.

I have really mixed feelings about the Game.... i really loved SAO:HF SAO:HR and SAO:FB had over 2500 Hours in these 3. After these 3 good games they dropped the 2 Trash Games Lycoris and Recollection so im really curious did they Managed to get back to there Rootes or did they continued the Series of Trash Games
I have only played Fatal Bullet by Sao.. I tell you this game didn't convince me much but I tried the beta just because it was a dimps game... but honestly I don't know whether to take it on day one .. (not for the money but only because I prefer to play something else) clear if it was Fatal Bullet 2 I would have taken the Premium Edition with my eyes closed... I think I'm staying to play Fatal Bullet at the moment...
I actually rather the raids not just be a room with a monster in it. Some build up to the boss imo is better. The whole empty room with a boss in it is what i disliked in ff14's "raids"
I like the game, but I'm waiting for a playthrough of the full game to see if it's worth buying. ESPECIALLY the online matchmaking; if it has a daily roullete or not, like FFXIV does. If there isn't, the only place people are gonna flock onto is the endgame, and that ain't good, and it gets boring fast.
4:50 interesting, i quite like how kirito plays. But to be fair, i've never played a sao game before, so i dont have any comparisons. Just that from the roaster rn i enjoy kirito and shinon the most (and yes, there are other characters in the beta that i find boring)

@@Yusei255 Well the game is name Sword Art ONLINE idk what people think, there are like 6 games from Sao you can play offline with no multiplayer included, as soon as there is any multiplayer involved people start crying. It is a good decision to make it very cooperative with other players and give it a bit more competitive modes makes it more fun than roaming around alone.

already have 27 hours of gameplay for this game and have been loving it, I am definitely buying this and can't wait until the official launch

Lycoris is more personal. I have to give Dimps credit for being a Fatal Bullet dev they got melee down despite the numbers on the building roster

No it’s the same co-op map, and only 2 boss raids I can see how people are getting burnt out but it’s only the public test

A dark souls like sao game would be sick
anyone know how hard the raid-boss fight go ? it seem like 1 hit could deal alot of damage for a ranged character tho

I agree or if we still have the fixed skills to upgrade or change them like idk make an ability do fire damage instead of water or whatever the original abilities element is
a skill tree and other ways of customization are things they should have put in there since the beggining cause it's a pve game after all, if people get bored with dozens of things to do in games I can only imagine how much time it will take if the game is purely about farming gear with clones of you all around and fixed skills 😂, I doubt they would redo everything just to change that, game feels very 2012 to me.

I definitely agree with your review in almost every way. Its not a fatal bullet 2, but it is a step in the right direction as an SAO game imo.
I only played for a few hours, but I definitely felt like the game was starting to get repetitive by the end of my session, I hope that's just because it's a beta.
I hope that they'll have a different mode where you don't have to unlock skills in battle and you just can be really strong. Maybe make it like xenoverse Quests where you can pick 1 star or 7 star bosses to fight?
Your idea for Kirito is definitely what they should do, either make him fully customizable, or have a Kirito from every single series cause that would be super fun. Llenn is my favorite character so far, but if they made a ggo Kirito who plays exactly like Fatal Bullet, he'd probably be my main easily.
Didn't mean for this to be a long comment, but I can definitely see my myself playing this from time to time. I wish it didn't come out a week before Sparking Zero, cause I'm way more hype for that then this. I think I'll still buy day one and would be down to join a discord and play sometimes if you do make one.
What? I have already seen my game play change because I ranked up. Now the starting mission is different. Ex. Now I get scorting mission before it leads to the second stage before the boss fight. 😂😂
@rmrm3485 I have like 10 hours in the beta, I don't mind the gameplay, but I feel like now I can only play in bursts, or else it'll get stale for me
@@jj4life015 i get it, but its just beta . The full game will have other maps and way more quest. Not to mention only a fraction of the characters you can pick. I dont mind these grind if there is a change in the fights. Every weapon change and enhancement I saw a change in my combo effects and how many breakers we got. But not everyone likes the grind though I get it.

I have really mixed feelings about the Game.... i really loved SAO:HF SAO:HR and SAO:FB had over 2500 Hours in these 3. After these 3 good games they dropped the 2 Trash Games Lycoris and Recollection so im really curious did they Managed to get back to there Rootes or did they continued the Series of Trash Games

I have only played Fatal Bullet by Sao.. I tell you this game didn't convince me much but I tried the beta just because it was a dimps game... but honestly I don't know whether to take it on day one .. (not for the money but only because I prefer to play something else) clear if it was Fatal Bullet 2 I would have taken the Premium Edition with my eyes closed... I think I'm staying to play Fatal Bullet at the moment...

I actually rather the raids not just be a room with a monster in it. Some build up to the boss imo is better. The whole empty room with a boss in it is what i disliked in ff14's "raids"
I like the game, but I'm waiting for a playthrough of the full game to see if it's worth buying. ESPECIALLY the online matchmaking; if it has a daily roullete or not, like FFXIV does. If there isn't, the only place people are gonna flock onto is the endgame, and that ain't good, and it gets boring fast.
4:50 interesting, i quite like how kirito plays. But to be fair, i've never played a sao game before, so i dont have any comparisons. Just that from the roaster rn i enjoy kirito and shinon the most (and yes, there are other characters in the beta that i find boring)

This game is just not worth 60 bucks. Looks like shit, clunky mechanics, ultra repetitive gameplay. Idk why they won’t upgrade their engine, this doesn’t look or feel like a modern game at all

@@Yusei255 Well the game is name Sword Art ONLINE idk what people think, there are like 6 games from Sao you can play offline with no multiplayer included, as soon as there is any multiplayer involved people start crying.
It is a good decision to make it very cooperative with other players and give it a bit more competitive modes makes it more fun than roaming around alone.
