    Another tip, from an NHK (Japanese broadcaster) segment, is to periodically nod your head to show engagement. It may mean more to Japanese, but the segment showed that video call participants felt more engaged if they nodded their head as a form of active listening.

    So when I share screen and record non of the video window records. Recently there was an update, and my camera started glitching. I uninstalled and reinstalled zoom but when I record in screen sharing mode I get the windows of all participants recorded too. This is not what I want. I like to see them on screen 2 and record screen 1 with out the video window. Like I had it before.

      If I understand you, this cannot be done. You can either share videos or show participants, but not a particular mixture of the two.

    I encountered a new error message when Screen Sharing a PPT. When I PLAY the PPT, rather than the green "You are now screen sharing" I get an orange bar stating "Sharing is paused. Bring your shared window to the front." The Pause Share button is also Paused, and it will NOT resume when I click on it. I cannot find any solutions online!

      Try unchecking "Optimize Video" before you share the PPT.

    I am having audio problems with Zoom. I am using a headset and a USB port with my desktop PC. I joined a Zoom meeting and although the others could hear me, I could not hear them. So I tested my speaker and it was OK. I tested my mic and it was OK. But then, instead of getting a message that everything looks good, I got a message saying “Your device is not working properly”. How is this possible? Doesn’t make sense. I turned off my computer for the night. Next day, we again tried to set up the Zoom meeting. I tested my speaker and it was OK. I tested my mic and it was OK. But again, I got a message saying “Your device is not working properly”. But weirdly, this time we were both able to hear each other!! I am totally confused. Is there an explanation?

    • @david203
      @david203 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some operating systems have multiple volume controls, input source selection, or microphone permission options. Some browser tabs can be muted, or provide their own set of permissions. It can be difficult to troubleshoot audio problems as a result.

      @@david203 Yes, that's what I've found. I had a Zoom meeting the other day and at the start my colleagues could hear me fine, but halfway through, they couldn't. I checked the audio and the mic had "moved". Thanks anyway.

    • @david203
      @david203 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@taufiqulhuque5860 I have seen audio suddenly stop several times in meetings. Can you explain what you mean by the mic having moved? Was this a problem with the microphone or a bug in Zoom?

    • @taufiqulhuque5860
      @taufiqulhuque5860 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@david203 I used headphones and also a webcam because my computer didn’t have those capabilities. When I logged in to the meeting I checked the audio settings on Zoom and there was a check mark next to the mic that is part of the headphones. At the point where my colleagues told me that they couldn’t hear me, I saw that the check mark was no longer in that place - it had moved to the “system” mic (or something like that - forgive me - I’m a cybermoron). So to make myself audible again, I re-checked on the original headphone mic setting. Anyway I’ve just bought a new laptop (after 9 years with the other computer) so I’m hoping I won’t have this problem again. I start teaching via Zoom in a couple of weeks!!
