I lived in Dhaka for 8yrs. Growing up in the northern part of Bangladesh, I always wanted to get rid of this crazy city. Now here I am, living abroad for one year and can't wait to go back to this madness. I miss the buzz, I miss meeting known faces unexpectedly. I have seen all your Dhaka videos and I am so nostalgic that I don't think this comment section is enough for stating everything. Anyway, I love how you are up for anything interesting and crazy.

Dhaka traffic is really bad. You can sit for 4-5 hours in the morning and the late afternoon and evening.
So travelling on the not-wide-enough main roads of Dhaka during rush hour (especially the evenings of the weekdays) are a horrible idea. The main reason for this is that people work in some important parts of the city but live far away in an area where the rent is much cheaper. Also, huge population, hence the infrastructure is very very insufficient.
    So, lessons are:
    1. Try not to travel during rush hour unless you have to.
    2. Walk if you have the energy (stay hydrated and eat snacks)
    3. Travel on Fridays and Saturdays.
As a huge fan, I would love to host you again the next time you come. Your vlogs are very admirable and accurate, it captures the essence of the location. Thanks so much for making these vlogs.

Took cycle rickshaws all the way into old quarter(s) and river bank: low river season, invited into 'bamboo cage' aka home of a man, sang a 'Asalamalekum' type song and attracted 100s of curious people starting in....Absolutely overwhelming and unforgettable place and people, you're right!

I have to come clean, I've been binge watching video after video from you. It's so amazing to see how different people from across the world live, it is so densely populated and the traffic laws (lack of) is crazy. I also must admit, after watching your videos I am changing my mind on the way I see Muslims. Everyone seemed very friendly, not how the media or other outlets portray them to be. I also watched your Rohinga video this morning, such an eye opener. Thank you.

This video makes me proud to be of Bangladeshi heritage. Yes we’re a poor country and we’re a long, long way from getting even near countries like Malaysia, Thailand etc but we’re resilient, warm people with lots of love for guests and I hope you were shown a good time.

Renee Woollaston, You are extremely welcome in my country.Bangladesh is a place still not touched by tourism. So what you will see here is pure and natural. Nothing is deliberately altered to accommodate tourism. Which is not the case with other popular tourist destination. Around half a million foreigners travel to Bangladesh for various purpose every years. Small percentage of them are tourist. And any bad incidence with tourist is extremely rare if any at all in Bangladesh. You can move here more safely then many other established tourist destination. If you can cope with traffic jam here then I think your travel in Bangladesh will be worth of your effort. Again welcome to you.

Some recommended places are : Madhabkundo Waterfalls, Jaflong , Madhappur lake, Ratargul wetland, Hakaluki Haor (biggest in Bangladesh) , Lakkatura National Park (Sri Mangal) etc. Consider going these places, there you can capture some of the finest beauty of Bangladesh. Stay safe and enjoy.

Hey man I just wanted to tell you what a great job you are doing with these videos. Thank you for visiting my country. I think you made some very impartial videos that portrays our country accurately. Please ignore some of the Bengali's blasting you about not showing the "real Bangladesh." Unfortunately, most urban centers in Bangladesh are just like Dhaka with a little less congestion. What you have shown is the real Bangladesh. Its just too many people are in denial and delusional about the state of our country. Ironically that is one of the prime reason for the state of our country. Most people have blinders on and think nothing is wrong in most of the country except Dhaka. Hopefully that attitude changes soon so we can work to improve the state of our country.
