1, You applied a high melting point tin thread that it didn't work well on your 500F polar beam. 2, Your iron was not power enough to connect the polar beam to the cord. Suggestion, low MT thread,200 celcius , bigger iron atheist 60watt, preheat the cord with a torch.

Couple it parallel as backup not replace so it work in all weather but separate with a switch incase ground we still start

Yes, you can do parallel connection but with smaller super cap. I have the links to buy it in car/vehicle category in the list below the video, click more you will see the drop down. Buy that ready build, YOu also should buy the Battery desulfator, it will help your 12v acid battery last much longer. Good lucks take care... stay safe
