The Eg4 6500 Ex 48 high frequency, transformerless inverter is now failing left and right and has been discontinued. I wouldn't recommend buying any high-frequency, transformerless inverter.

Voiding the warranty from opening enclosures in the US is illegal.

I know this is an old video but I just went to all 3 big box stores to check their boxes out. I have a certain size limit for my box atm and I only need a bottom box. So first I went to HF to check out their new series 3. Nice boxes but they are 22" deep so unfortunately too deep for my space. Box quality is nice but also doesn't have soft close due to their new latch system. Then I went to Lowes and honestly their Craftsman boxes, even the made in USA stuff is junk. Flimsy, soft close barely works. All in all just a bad quality. Then I tried the Kobalt boxes and was also pretty disappointed by the smaller 27" models. But this specific 36" (which is the max I have room for), just felt really nice. Good working soft close drawers. Decent thickness on the metal. All in all so far the best. From there I went to HD and looked at their Husky boxes. The 27" ones were ok, soft close working somewhat decent, metal seemed a little thinner gauge but not by much. I guess you would call it ok as for a non commercial box. Also checked out the Milwaukee ones and those are by far probably the best boxes (besides the ICON series at HF) that u can buy. Unfortunately, again 22" depth, so I can't make it usable for my case. So after long back and forth and debating on either getting 27" or 36", I feel that my money will be best spend on the Kobalt 36", especially since they have the slate gray color on sale for $339 (not any other color oddly). I think I'm going to pick that one up, since the Lowes about a mile from my house has 2 of these in stock.

I just wanted to offer some help. If you are not running in split phase 220v why are you using double pole breakers for each inverter its only 110v? The comms cable you have connected to the bottom battery does not look like you have the dip switches set to 0000 (master) which is required for communication to work. The inverter should powerup with battery and the lifepower4 have an internal resistor for pre-charge but you need to follow power up process. The inverter that you think there is a short on solar turn everything off and check the input for short. Be careful turning things on and off in random order there is a process that needs to be followed when powering up 6500ex.

The DC breaker has polarity, so you swapped polarity from the solar panel

2024 - Craftsman gauge is thicker 18 vs Husky 22 gauge. Not saying one is better than the other, but those are the facts in 2024. I checked both out and really any differences were minimal except that the Husky has dual sliders in bottom drawer and costs a bit less too - but only has a 90 day warranty (vs 10 years for Craftsman). I don't have the warranty details but you can check them out if interested. Hope this helps.

Craftsman use to be good cheap tools now they’re just cheap. US General has the best cheap boxes and I feel like Harbor Freight is trying to replace craftsman as the cheap good tools with no question warranty

I see that you don't have the parallel sharing cable installed. Which one of the inverters is 2P1, and which one is 2P2? The 2P2 one should be set to 180 out of phase.

and for places where it's not cold like here in Latin America, it would be a good idea to replace the battery, right?

Best to add one intake and outtake fan to keep it cool and remove gasses.

Trying to use 3.7 volt lithium to work on 12 volt lead designed equipment is troublesome. 7s 24 volt works way better.

I wouldn't do business with Chase for anything. Over the past 6 decades I have heard enough stories of unscrupulous practices by this bank; they will never get my business. Craftsman has 10 year Warranty and Husky only has 3 years. If Husky is built better why less warranty?

I was watching a toolbox comparison yesterday. Don't remember the channel. He said Craftsman is the worst of all. The metal is too thin. How embarrassing for Craftsman.

Maybe keep tray in there to catch used pulp. Then use long tongs to clean up anything that falls outside the tray. But yes, seems like inconvenient design.

1, You applied a high melting point tin thread that it didn't work well on your 500F polar beam. 2, Your iron was not power enough to connect the polar beam to the cord. Suggestion, low MT thread,200 celcius , bigger iron atheist 60watt, preheat the cord with a torch.

You always turn off solar first, then the inverter and finally the batteries. Then you turn on the batteries first, then the inverter and then the PV panels. If you don’t, you have the potential damaging your inveter or charge controllers!

Getting two of my EG4 6500EX for split phase output as I need 240v for my Cinderella Comfort toilet and my 38 SEER 240v mini-split unit! Totally off grid (except for water, I will buy that locally). Update: the EG4 6500EX’s idle consumption rate is waaaaay to high! So I went with Victron inverters. 2 Multiplus II inverters in parallel. can’t go wrong with Victron and they have a very very low idle consumption rate. You plug them in and it they just work. Current Connected even configures them for you. Signature Solar doesn’t configure anything. So glad I had returned the EG4s but at a major cost. signature Solar forced the shipment when I cancelled even though they had it on campus and did not restock so charged me for the round trip shipping and restocking. Good luck if you have to get your EG4 repaired or do an RMA.

Do you have any regrets going with the eg4 6500ex inverter with the problems you had? I’m about to purchase the eg4 but unsure of the bugs people are having.

MPTT string can accept only 18A. If you got 500w+ panels and your array is in parallel, you might be capped to 4000Wh max.
