A gold standard for writing, period. What happened after this? Execs saw the repeated critical & public acclaim for the series and went, "nah, we can't have that again"?
@@scawmper Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. I've been amazed by the degrading quality of movies and TV shows in the last 10-15 years. It's like people have forgotten how to make things great.
You know, seeing as how hard as F' Laura turned out, it makes you wonder about some of your old schoolteachers. Your 4th grade homeroom teacher might have been a serious, throw them out the airlock type person after all, and you were probably right to fear her.
There are a lot of similarities between the two of them compared to how he was in the miniseries. It shows that the humanity around him was all about forcing him to compromise towards caring for the group and it made him a better person, whereas the leftover remains of society that Cain got gave her feelings of betrayal and a need for revenge.
That passenger ship must have some pretty powerful engines if it can take off from a planet's surface while hauling an entire concrete parking garage around in its lower deck. It even has curbs and painted yellow lines for gods' sake!
To be honest, Laura wasn' very smart in this scene. Being in an unarmed civilian ship, warned about incoming Cylon Raiders yet ordering them to stay put and not leave the area... realistically, they would have died then and there if not for the plot armor.
Actually technically he followed the chain of command. He was not a member of the Galactica crew, but the Commander could give him orders as long as they didn’t interfere with his duties from his current chain of command, yet at the top of the chain is the Commander in Chief, who gave him a different order. Since both could not be done simultaneously the top one wins. Some low level politician that’s technically become the president in the middle of a war due to unfortunate circumstances is technically the person who has the final say in military duties even if they are doing it wrong.
@@anthonyscarfe4853 Technically I am still correct as I made no judgment about the validity of the orders. I simply said suggestion. It's been almost 3 years so I can't remember exactly what was wrong with the title but it must have been bad for me to post. PS yes I agree that you are correct, but I am not wrong either as again I made no judgment.

Fix the typo in the title
Knowing their rocky relationship at the start, just seeing Adama break down knowing that he possibly lost his only son was heart breaking.
Adama was an extremely proud father but Lee's anger caused a rift between them.
Not his only son. His only living son. He got the other one killed.
@@BlaneNostalgia Not saying Lee didn't do anything wrong but they both had things that they could have done better.
His LAST son, not only. He already lost Zack.
Still a Gold Standard for mini-series science fiction.

"We're in the middle of a war and your taking orders for a schoolteacher??" Classic :)

Just realized that what Adama said about Roslin was nearly verbatim echoed by Cain.

Olmos is sooo fucking good in this series!

Always been one of my favourite locals-know bits; It's the car deck of a BC Ferry, almost completely unmodified 🤣

Which later, when she jumps away despite the screams over the radio from the doomed ships, shows that she learned.
Title suggestion: Apollo disobeys Adama's orders. You have to change the title anyway.

Was trying to figure out where I've seen the pilot guy, he was in Band of Brothers xD
Oh I think I know who he is in Band of Brothers. Forget his name.
he was also a short-lived captain of the prometheus in sg1.
Dang it!! Do i have to watch this show again lol
I was expecting him to say orale 😂
...even I know what happens, this scene still hurts to watch.
James Edward Olmos really sold it, the desperation and sorrow
I love this scene so much
What is his problem with school teacher? 😅
