I'm not an artist but seeing what you have done gives me hope, I have done some beautiful work though! Thanks for the video hope to watch more and do more and your cause is great it's a crazy world and anybody who does this stuff to children or anybody is not much of a person! We aways hear about the bad in the world but there are a lot of good in the world that needs to be heard as well! Thank you I'm Larry not dee need to change that my wife is not a woodturner lol
What a gorgeous project! And the paint coming off the tree is such a lucky accident. I mean, with the black coming off of it, it looks even more like it's on fire than if you just had a bit of red. Amazing work!
your idea of making a masterpiece is very good. the combination of wood and resin made me not believe it after seeing the results, it's really amazing
First time I've seen your work or heard of this organization. You made a beautiful piece of art and I'm happy it's for such an amazing cause. Thank you doesn't seem quite enough but please keep up the great work!
It was very nice to see your work and to hear your words! I found some inspiration on this video! Im running a workshop in my house and find this kind of videos to learn and give it a try on my lathe. send you a hug from Lomas de Zamora. Bs As. Argentina!
Great work man, love your projects and the cause you do it for. I myself have testimony videos and want any money made off it to go to the same cause. God bless man
Wow, that turned out really nice ! As Bob Ross would say " Happy Little Trees ", etc... Your accident made a Happy Learning Curve. It all " Turned Out " in the end. Reminds me of a sun set behind the tree. The light in the interior really makes a statement. :~)
Awesome. Have you seen Blacktail studios? He has a method of using a blowtorch to eliminate the bubbles in resin and it produces a really smooth glass like surface.
Some people just have this amazing, creative imagination & look at things in such a different way. This is not me, but you Dan, you're not only talented but come up with the most out there, original, arsty fartsy ideas! Ur def one clever guy 😀👍
Before I watch the video I go to the end to see the finished product. This one looked to me to be on fire, so when you said that was the original plan I was pumped. You COULD do with more flames, but this looked charred and to the point of burn out. Nice job.
A propane torch would have made your life much easier on this one. You can just brush the surface with the torch to get rid of bubbles, AND it would have softened the resin so that you had less trouble applying your color. But you probably already know that a year later. ;-) It's a beautiful project. Well done.
Such a beautiful piece. It really looks I guess almost like Asian art where you have the tree and then behind it the yellow going into golden looks like a sunrise or sunset behind it. And then that touch of color from the top it's just awesome. You really have such a great talent, being able to create such beauty and then to donate it for a great cause👍
Beautiful project as always. Just a suggestion. I noticed you didn't try a heat gun when you were trying to get the bubbles out of the resin. That may have helped
It stands to reason your sand and vibrating table would be in conflict. The sand defuses the action of the Viber. Great work as usual. P.S. I don't see you changing your method of using sand. I'm sure the Viber would work on a project like a river table. Keep em coming. Love your work.
First day viewer, love what you do!like your style of art and wood/resin projects!we need more people like you in this time of craziness! A great cause to support! Think with the stress of all that has happened (and fear whats to come!) Its nice to just watch you create! God bless! New subscriber!
This is an awesome piece...I appreciate your work. I was wondering if it is possible to choose a resin that is crystal clear after the turning process. This resin end up being a bit cloudy.
Take the wheels off your pressure tank. then bolt/screw it to the wall. The tank will become horizontal and you can slide in and pressurize your tuening...
Beautiful work! I'm curious about whether or not the cracks in the wood will weaken the piece over time. I've seen some turners fill the cracks with resin.
@@artgivinghope Ha ha! I'm so dumb! Shows how good the pour was because I didn't see it at all. If I'd thought about it longer, I may have realized that. 😳 Thanks for answering.
Another beautiful piece 😎 Forget the vacuum, really a waste of time and money, as most of your bubbles will be coming from the heat of the resin making air exit the timber. To minimise your bubbles, not using a pressure pot (they do make big ones btw), precoat your timbers with a coating resin first and let set. That way any air from the timber will be contained. Air from the resin itself can be removed with a heat gun or a misting spray of metho (you call it spirit?). Cheers
This is a very creative and quit beautiful piece. Perhaps it would be safer if you used a sander with an extended to sand inside of it though. If your arm got caught in that spinning thing it could rip your arm off vary quickly. That would not good at all.
U said u were going to try it again, the black paint kinda melted off, do it the same way but add some orange, yellow, red with the black tree, and when it kinda melts off maybe it will look like a burning tree. Sorry to keep putting my 2 cents in.
Check into OBA grinding wheels. They can hog off lots of wood in a short time. Beautiful project again as usual sir. I like what you've been doing with your acrylic experiments.
