Love that section of river. Caught my first Steely there! I also use that same rod. It’s a good one for that application. Learn something new about the bobbers and tubes. Great video overall thanks!
Thank you for all your videos. I appreciate your approach to fishing for these steelhead. I've been a fly fisherman for many decades, terrible getting old, and used to over complicate it. If you are a nymph or streamer fisherman for trout, you can fish for steelhead, just size things up a little. Though many times it's the same flies. Keep up the great work.
Jay question on 2 handed rods for salmon and steelhead is there a length and rod weight that would handle both salmon and steelhead. Would 7 weight 13 footer be versatile enough for both salmon and steelhead or do you prefer a shorter rod in the 11 foot range.
a 7wt 13 foot would just fine. However if I was going to have just one rod. I would go With a 11 foot 8 wait. for The flexibility of a switch rod. In eight wait can't handle The heavy tips and hire water.
Can you describe your favorite method for setting the hook on a Steelhead using these egg fishing techniques. Is there a method that you prefer and increases you landing ratio? Thanks for all you guys do.
Unfortunately nobody in central Michigan has videos like you do I appreciate everything you do.
Thank you
