You guys are doing an amazing job🤩! Im taking notes from your gardening style. I’m transitioning ( trying lol 😂) to a perennial garden as well.Thank you for inspiring!
Really beautiful flower beds and many plants that are friendly for insects, I love that. I think it would be nice if you could plant stuff along the back wall that will cover it in green and flowers, maybe some climbing roses, so the view becomes even more natural. Love the paths you created, I am thinking to do something similar in my garden. Right now its all dead grass because of the drought, and I am impressed about how beautiful and lush your garden is despite the prolonged period without rain.
Thanks for the ideas! We’ve thought about a clematis before on the fence, actually. We had a hedge until last year… so we’re still figuring out what would look best. Great idea with the climbing roses… we’ll certainly look into it 🥰
Happy belated birthdays! So glad we met through Jim’s channel. Can’t wait to see your hydrangeas. I’m just in love with your garden. My garden is also cottage style but I’ve yet to fill it in like yours. I’m always so afraid to place plants too close together. I guess it’s time to just go for it! I love the placement in the park/graveyard at the end. I love those drifts of color. Absolutely gorgeous!
Likewise! Small worlds connecting together 🥰 As for the garden, That’s the great thing about perennials … you can plant them close together and then dig them up and move them if it doesn’t work out 😅.
lovely family and gorgeous garden!! I'm really glad I came across your video and will continue following your channel. thank you for sharing your garden with us!!
I am wondering, I am in Quebec, do your hydrangea like the new pink one you added is hardy enough to grow in zone 5? I would love to get different ones as I have Annabelle for now. Your garden is very inspiring ❤
I'm not so sure about the zoning in Canada. For here, plants are typically hardy enough to handle winter temps of -9.4°C to -6.7°C. The pink one in the video was a gift... so I'm sure they bought it from the local planting centre.
When you collect the seeds of the Lupins, do you have to wait for them to be totally finished blooming and the seeds are done developing, or will they be fine to use if you cut them before they are completely done? Hugs from 🇨🇦 ❤
Great question! To collect Lupin seeds, wait until the flowers have bloomed and faded, allowing the seed pods to develop completely. The pods will turn from green to brown as they mature, becoming dry and starting to split open naturally. Harvesting the seeds at this stage ensures they are fully developed and more likely to germinate successfully. If you cut the pods too early, the seeds might not be mature enough to use effectively.
It's Nepeta cataria (in Danish, we call it kattemynte (catmint)). It's also called catnip, catswort or catwort. And yes, it's lovely! Grows like crazy here and flowers again after cutting it back.
We grow mostly perennials that can handle our area. We cut down a few things in late autumn and the rest we let overwinter until spring (where we cut them down). Hope that helps!
Happy Birthday to your son 🎊!!! So great to see you guys having him in the garden and being part of the gardening process! Good job 👏!
Thanks so much! He’s a big helper ☺️
The young man is so sweet and so adorable.
Isn’t he? 🥰🥰. We’re so proud of him.
Beautiful array of plants👍🌺😀

We love perennials - they come back every year, look great… and the bees love them, too.
Can’t wait to hear how your garden is going 🌞😃

A water feature would be beautiful later we’re the trampoline is.
Oooooooooo… that could work! We have a year (we think) before he gets too old for the trampoline. We’ll add water feature to the list!
you have a lovely garden
Thank you for watching! Check out our July tour, too - to see what bloomed after the rain :)
Love it!
So glad!

Wow, your ground covers area is beautiful! Love the idea of mass planting flowering ground covers❤❤. What is white flower at 17:32?
The white one is Cerastium tomentosum… called snow-in-summer in English i believe.
Wow! Looks Amazing!
Thanks so much! We need some rain, but otherwise things are growing well.
Hermoso!
❤

@perennial-garden thank you for responding! I will now gladly wait for the pods to turn brown...so glad I didn't cut them!!
@@ClassicLitLove-kx9tt Great :)
What is the catmint name at Min. 16.55 ? Very pretty!
It's Nepeta cataria (in Danish, we call it kattemynte (catmint)). It's also called catnip, catswort or catwort. And yes, it's lovely! Grows like crazy here and flowers again after cutting it back.
@@perennial-garden Thank you. I know it’s Catmint, but I wanted to know wich kind!
@@Hlegzudas Gotcha 😅. It's Nepeta × faassenii. Hope that helps.
How do you save your garden during winter?
We grow mostly perennials that can handle our area. We cut down a few things in late autumn and the rest we let overwinter until spring (where we cut them down). Hope that helps!
