The citric acid at the end is the first time I've seen anyone do that. Soo smart!!!

This is definitely one of the best bath bomb tutorials I've found. I've been thinking about using a homemade bath bomb to propose to my girlfriend, and most of the recipes I've found just didn't seem right. I love that this one has oils and uses something other than food coloring.

I am teaching my Grandkids to make homemade Christmas gifts this year. Because they are girls (not me) this hits the spot. I guess I could make some for my guy friends(weird sorta) and maybe scent them with WD-40,fish bait, oil or gunpowder LOL. Actually most guys won't admit it but we all have a feminine side. Me I prefer lavender, rosemary and ginger (shhhhh and a nice candle). I am a former Executive Chef and like the creativity. Nice video!!

This is a great dIY video for beginners like me. You offer such great tips and techniques. I wish I had watched this before I started making bath bombs. I learned by trial and error that you lightly over-stuff the molds and then press them together hard so that the mixture passes through itself and sticks together. Kind of like how you make a snow ball. I've watched more videos and looked at more recipes than I can count. Spent a ton of money too, so it's disappointing when they crack or don't hold together. My house is very dry, which is good, but I have to always spray A LOT of rubbing alcohol or witch hazel to get them to hold together. Then I over-spritz and they crack. I think what I need is a better base-recipe to begin with. One that balances the dry to liquid/oil ratio better. I just don't think I should be spritzing that much. Can't wait to try your recipe!

Thank you for sharing, so far this is the best tutorial i found on TH-cam. Well done. I have made a bunch of bath bombs, they did not have the cream of tartar, nor witch hazel. Some do not even float at all. I will definitely try this recipe tomorrow or as soon as my supplies arrive. Again, thanks.

My last two batches of bombs expanded while they sat. I'm not entirely certain how I'm adding too much liquid, as I really am just trying to moisten it until it holds together without a large chunk crumbling into my hands. I live in Nevada, so I doubt it's moisture from humidity. Any tips for dumb dumbs like me on making sure the consistency will press but not expand? How long do you allow them to dry before wrapping? And tips on long term storage? Sorry, thanks.

Aside from just a filler, is there a benefit to adding the corn starch? I saw one woman who said that it irritated her skin so she just took it out and made the bombs smaller. What are your thoughts on that? I'm hoping to put some of these together as Christmas gifts, but I also want to be sensitive to skin! In home-made deodorants I substitute corn starch for arrow root powder but I'm not sure if that would work here.

My bath bombs are in a 6 oz ball mold, similar to the one you used here, but when I remove them from the mold and set them to dry, most of them sort of "settle" leaving the bottom of the bath bomb flat in stead of round as they should be. Will using the towel and bubble wrap resolve this or should I do something else? Thank you :)

Cream of Tarter is to make your Bath bomb bubble a little and it helps it float and It really makes a lot of sense to add Citric acid in at the last moment! , But if you do not add the cream of Tarter can you add a clay even though you will not have the same results? Also can you add Epsom salts? I noticed a few people asked, but I did not see a response? I really like adding Clays in my bath bombs as well as Oatmeal, Goatsmilk, ETC.... I noticed when I add butters my bathbombs do stay soft a little longer, but they end up getting hard! I think I would replace next time the liquid oil instead of the Cocoa butter even though Cocoa butter is a hard oil? Now instead of adding Cornstarch can you also replace that with Clays as a hardener? This video gets a big thumbs up for me you are a very great teacher Thank you much for sharing Loved it!

I followed all the steps and initially the bath bombs look beautiful and perfect. They looked like a great consistency and was smooth. Later, when I checked on them they were super moist and getting softer. The bottoms are even flat. What did I do wrong?
