I know I'm way behind but wanted to provide some constructive feedback. As a newer player, I don't know this game or these cards as well as you all (that's why I'm watching the video). So, the amount of tongue-in-cheek sarcasm really takes a lot of value out of watching for me. If some card is amazing for some real reason, tell me why, don't just scoff and say, "Its fine" and move on. Thanks.
A suggestion if you're trying to shorten the length of the video: maybe instead of showcasing every card that's good that an investigator can take, just show which cards synergizes with said investigator. For example, shortcut is *always* good in every scenario in any investigator because you *will* move at some point. But it doesn't usually have much synergy unless your name is Ursula Downs, Monterey Jack, or Luke Robinson. If we wanted to see which cards are good in a color we can see your staples video. Expanded guides I think can explore more about the investigator and how they interact with cards or maybe showcase card combos or even highlight a few archetypes that they can really shine in.
I think showcasing which archetypes an investigator excels in can be really interesting, you can even link to and from your archetype videos as another example of that archetype. While showcasing cards for the expanded guide, you can even link to your Understanding Deckbuilding video and show which could be the core cards of the archetype, which are the economy, which are the function, and which are the fun cards. I think that'd be really interesting, really cohesive.
I think Mandy is a little bit of an outlier for this. Her cards chosen by Travis meant she had a monster of an amount of cards to cover. Most recent guides in this format hit 60-70 minutes, which works a lot better. It's definitely a hard balance, but that's why we link to our staple videos, because it could be someone's first video. I will say though a more archetype focused investigator guide video is likely on the horizon.
@@syafiqmahdi2316 I really like your idea about including archetype synergy in the videos. I'd enjoy even just a slide at the beginning, after the investigator intro slide, that lists the archetypes that investigator uses best (especially any archetype that is defined by the investigator). I think these things usually end up included naturally over the course of card discussion, but an enumerated "menu" of archetypes feels like a good include. Now that I've said that, it's important to note Travis has already written these guides and they've already recorded well more than half of the videos, so it's a wildly unrealistic request. But, it sounds like perhaps another video or series may be in the works.....
@PlayingBoardGames: I believe that Research Librarian would not work in Mandy as you would search your entire deck and find your weakness...which cancel your search
It's true, but that can be a positive. Getting your weakness out on turn 1 can be great for Mandy. Also, if you already fished out your weakness, Research Librarian is a powerful search tool for Mandy.
Bryn watching this video after remembering Justin saying that they had to tighten up the length of these
Mandy used her power to extend the search of the video! 🤣
Excited to watch this video showcasing every seeker card.
Mandy's deckbuilding options, combined with having so many cards that are good for her, made this quite the marathon.
Do you have a live play through using Mandy or a super pro deck with nice combos?
Is Mr. Rook a contradiction in the Mandy deck? Doesn’t the weakness overlap what Mr. Rook wants to do?

@@PlayingBoardGames that's very fair. Really looking forward to more videos from you guys!

@@PlayingBoardGames : indeed, good plan to avoid keeping drawing the weakness during the Upkeep phase!
Minor thing but the example decklist is 40 cards and has 1 too many copies of Occult Evidence.
Yeah, that was a slip-up on my part when making the visual slide at the end.
