    Hi Faisal, your lessons are great! It would be helpful to break down the faster versions of the rhythm so that we can learn them better. I’ve been drumming for 15 years in various disciplines and I have trouble keeping up.

    Hey Faisal amazing beat and rhythm.. your singing was also good. I've never seen a derbuka player playing and singing.. pretty amazing. it combined with the rhythm,,,

      My drum is from Egypt, I got it 11 years ago when I visited Egypt.
      The skin however, is Remo made.

    For such beats that start with a tak instead of a doom, do you start singing or playing the music on the tak as opposed to the doom?

      Hi Wael,
      It really depends on the composition. That means you can start on the Tek as the down beat, and you can start where the Dum is. I would say most compositions start from Tek as it is the down beat. But if someone can compose a piece starting after the Tek, that would be considered sophisticated composition.
