You need to play a bit with the microphone settings in G-hub. Also the comparison to a cheap microphone is not really relevant since it doesn't have any noise cancelling features, which is really important feature with gaming headsets. Noise cancelling will always distort the audio and being wireless doesn't help it either, it sound pretty similar to every other wireless headset.
[Update below] I just bought these, I'm waiting for it to ship but I gotta say, as a others have said bellow, if you use G-Hub's software it makes the mic's quality shoot through the roof, SERIOUSLY, the software makes it sound SOOOO MUCH better. Kind of a trend now if you ask me, brands are now not investing on hardware but software for this kind of things. So, if this would be the only flaw (which is actually relative depending on your standards) then these are "perfect", not just out of the box. [Update] I have been using these (seems that for a month lol) and I love them! I like the sound quality and the mic is fine for what I use. Great noise cancelling. Very comfy (maybe just a liiiittle warm), but overall really good.

There are lots of great options for other mics a couple I have experience with if you are okay with a mic that sits on your desk for best budget mic that sounds amazing is the Maono PM461TR usb condenser and if you want something that can attach to your headset you can get the antlion mod mic. Both are really good! :)
@@kevink7234 well it depends are you set on wireless? If so these are solid for the price. Also you get DTS surround. If you don’t care about surround or wireless I would probably opt for actual headphones like the sennheiser 559’s keep in mind with those you would need a 1/2in to 3.5mm adapter but those are cheap.
Really I bought it also and can’t connect it to my PS4 or laptop I can’t hear shit I went to configuration moved audio settings and nothing no mic or audio I think if you spend more time on explaining people how to configure the better I thought just by plugging the dongle it would work

I have a cheap pair of Turtle Beach headphones and I think I’m ready for an upgrade because my current headphones are very very uncomfortable and the sound quality is not very good. I’m probably going to end up buying a Logitech standalone mic for streaming and video recording. I think this review helped me decide a lot of stuff, thank you.
I don't have a ton of experience in the wireless gaming headset market, I have heard that the Corsair Virtuoso has a solid microphone tho I don't have experience with that headset. There is also the Antlion Mod Mic wireless that you can attach to any headphones, and it sounds pretty good.

I use a AKG Perception Studio microphone so I don't care much about the headset microphone, I just care for the audio quality of the headset and latency since is wireless. Though, is it really sound that great? I'm deciding which headset to buy next.
There's a cheapo sleeper headset that you may want to review: Fantech HG Captain 11. It does have a driver but kinda meh, but still, right off the box I think it's funny that it beats the G733 at their very different price points.
wireless mics always sound a lot worse than wired mics which is why your 30 dollar mic sounds better. Did you even use the LG G733 software? With this headset, LG has a collab with Blue (the company that makes Blue Yeti etc.) and there's an adept section in the LG software where you can enable the Blue equalizer and choose different modes and fine tune it. It drastically changes how the mic sounds.
The standalone mic might "sound better" but I was a able to understand your words more clearly with the built in mic. I think the voice being less deep helps it stand out from rumbling sound effects. The main purpose of a mic on a gaming headset is for voicecoms, not asmr recording imo. I think it's why workplace jabra headsets sound like ass but you can still understand words over a busy work environment.

I got the g733 just to play forza horizon 5 at night when my kids sleep. I’m very happy with the headset. I don’t care about the mic. Never use them anyways.
The mic is trash on PlayStation I updated on their website it worked fine on pc PlayStation 4 audio is amazing the only problem I had is the mic kept cutting out every second 😖 so I went with Astro a40 with no problems.

Why do that when headsets like the MH751 and PC38X exist though? Great sound and good integrated mics. The MH751 even has a detachable mic but the bass is said to be a bit weak on them.

@@BobasLife you totally should, a couple of audiophile channels said that it is the ultimate gaming headset and the only thing better for gaming and movies (not music) is a 1500+$ Sennheiser headphone (HD800S). Also, good review. I will still consider this Logitech since I want to try wireless and the only thing I use the mic for is in-game chat and callouts.

I would probably go for the HS 70 Pro. But I will say they the G733'S aren't bad they sound decent and are comfortable. But I have heard really good things about the Corsair HS 70's. Honestly it's about wether or not you care about the RGB and Look.

You can easily improve the audio quality with blue voice in the g hub app and they offer different preset’s.

True the mic is good enough to communicate. Just a weaker point of the headset. It is still a really good headset!

From what I know these are not compatible with XBOX.

God damn the mic quality is so bad..
Other than the mic it’s a really solid wireless headset.
the Logitech pro x wireless mic is equally as horrible.
Oh wow, I’ve heard good things about that headset. You would think with something that expensive you could get something that could at least compete with the headsets that have decent mics like sennheiser for example
@@BobasLife i just returned both. My friends told me they wouldn't play with me it sounded so bad lol. Came home with the blackshark v2 and everything is good now... the cheapest of the 3 was light-years better than them
you do know that all wireless microphone suck right even my friends 300$ astro a50 wireless mic sounds like crap . lol
Not true if you activate the blue voice it sounds better and the Corsair Virtuoso mic sounds really good.
This Headset is Trash Guys i Had it 2 Times and and both Headsets Had a whispering Like from a Bird in the left earcup. I will buy me the steelseries7 instead comment If u want to know how the steelseries7 performs
