    QD-OLED is the largest leap in panel tech history, went from 76% to 90%+ bt2020 color gamut coverage with infinite contrast and led level brightness, it's pretty much the pinnacle of display technology, yes it is more than worth the premium considering most thought this would be an $8,000 tv before they started releasing the prices, the only remotely comparable tv to this one is the Samsung S95B prior to it's most recent update, it's capable of even higher brightness than the A95K with any of the older updates, but Sony's processing, addition of Dolby Vision, and heatsink that allow for crazy long term peak brightness levels, easily justifying it's extra $1000 over the S95B, but if you want to save money, get the S95B and it will still easily destroy any mini-LED or OLED tv on the market

      It doesn't have LCD level brightness, it's just a bit brighter than previous OLEDs.
      Every year people say the new LCDs have OLED blacks and the new OLEDs have LCD brightness. It's never true, and still isn't this year.

      The S95B isn’t really better than the QN95B or QN900B. I’ve seen them all in action next to each other in multiple environments. Sure it has some advantages but overall it’s Samsung’s third best tv of the year. I haven’t seen the Sony one though, perhaps it’s much better. On top of that - the QD-OLED isn’t even available above 65 inches. And that’s too small for many people’s best tv.

    I purchased the LG 65C1 last year and since then have regretted not going QD-OLED or Mini LED because on a 65" display, glare and sun and is so noticeable. There are so many times that the display is just not bright enough. The image quality, responsiveness and contrast are exceptional, but based on other reviews I've seen, this display seems to address most of my complaints about my current C1.

All the on the fly/dynamic changes which happens on screen depends upon the settings one has chosen within that particular mode. So you can have Auto Picture mode off and still see the dynamic changes if you have those settings enabled within the picture mode. Hope this helps. Cheers 👍🏼

    One other big factor for this Sony over the Samsung is the heatsink which allows Sony to decrease the aggressiveness of auto light protection as shown in HDTV test that initially the S95B reads higher nits and brightness but after 4 minutes during the same scene the A95K display remained much brighter and the Samsung got a lot darker. The heatsink also improves image retention times to be much faster in removing them albeit the Samsung does a good job of this as well. What this translates to me is that over the course of a long gaming session let's say in a basketball video game for example, you'll less likely notice any dimming from the Sony. It would be nice to see that actually tested out but either set with this new QD-OLED tech seems to slay the older WRGB (LG) tech. The main downside for this first generation is the lack of variation in sizes. If you want something bigger or smaller LG may still be the way to go for this year at least.

    I went for the S95B and I'm more than satisfied with it. From the reviews I've seen so far it just isn't worth the extra premium for the Sony version. I'm sure that is a very good TV as well, I just never think I'd really notice a difference unless I had the two paired up side by side.
    My only worry before placing my order was if my panel was going to be crooked or not like some users have reported, but mine was straight as an arrow fortunately. The Q810B soundbar/woofer solution works pretty good as well.

    A misconception people have is that all LCDs will be brighter than a standard OLED, that is true if you go for a flagship QLED or high end LCD TV. Mid range and low range are only about 300-400 nits with decent blacks on a VA and horrible blacks on IPS in that range. I’d either go for this, an LG OLED or a Samsung Neo QLED.

    • @anom6707
      @anom6707 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really true, you can pick up a tcl 6 series or even 5 series on sale with higher nits of brightness than that. Imo buying an OLED isn't worth it, I wouldn't want to stress or think about burn-in while im using it (might not happen a lot nowadays but its still a reality and OLEDs will degrade much quicker than a QD-OLED display, Alienware is so positive with QD-OLEDs that they're even offering a 3 year warranty with their QD-OLED monitor), would rather wait for QD OLED to go on sale and just get that since its better than an OLED in nearly every way.

    • @truthx7
      @truthx7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coming from a really bright Qled I can say it's not just about picture quality for gaming.going to OLED for gaming gives you so much more motion clarity.lcd is blurry,and don't get me started on the ghosting issues and local dimming inconstancies

    • @tomwells8093
      @tomwells8093 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those higher numbers like 700-800 nits are only for very small highlights around 1-5% of the screen. OLED drops dramatically for any percentage beyond 20%. So a scene that has a bright room with sun shining through will look dim compared to any LCD TV more than a few hundred dollars. Peak brightness means nothing, its for companies to flex their marketing when you rarely see it in actual content. Even then it needs to be pitch black around the highlight to get that high. QD OLED is better now than WRGB OLED but still has a deficit in brightness for big parts on the screen

    Burn in issues resolved? Pixel shifting has been used on televisions since probably back in the plasma days. I have had three plasmas and two OLEDs. I always put on the burn-in protection features. However, I have burn in from gaming on my Sony a1E OLED.
    My concern is that the brighter these sets get the more opportunity arises for burn in. Especially with some people who really like to game and who will spend a lot of time on games like starfield and imagine the hours people will put into the next Grand theft Auto. My point is just to be careful and not think that burn in is something that cannot happen.
    Currently my main TV is an LG CX which I also game on and can say have not had any problems with. At this point. I am about to upgrade to a larger set at 77 in and even with the issue I had with the A1E I am still considering going for the A95L. I am just going to have to alter my usage.

    Kind of on edge between just going ahead and buying the a80j. As it seems to be the best value for a “super premium tv” or waiting and buying this. I just find it hard to believe that it can truly be worth an extra couple grand. But maybe?

    • @Z4d0k
      @Z4d0k 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The A80J will look very similar in most content. In the best HDR it will fall a little short on brightness on the highlights, but most movies are still mastered in P3 and many don't exceed 1000 nits, so not a huge difference. In the future that may change, but it will be many years before expanded colour spaces and higher brightness level content is common. As for gaming, you can pump up the colour and brightness and enjoy it on a QD-OLED today, assuming you're happy with an inaccurate image :) Probably the best part of QD-OLED for gaming, if you're buying a Sony, will be the reduced frequency of auto dimming that occurs on the A80J due to the static HUD elements.

    This TV is the most future proof premium tv on the market. Sure you can go s95b and save some money but between the horrendous, forced firmware updates (and the lack of option on what firmware you can use) the unavoidable bent panels, lack of Dolby vision, forced tone mapping in hdr interfering with hgig, and poorly tracked pq. I’d say the a95k is worth every penny extra. For those worried about hdmi 2.1 ports, good hdmi2.1 switches are about as much as a controller for your console these days and support full 48gbps. It’s not that big of a deal. You get what you pay for with the Sony.

    • @IronCan88
      @IronCan88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dannyweiss9701 I wanted the z9d, but couldn't find a new one so I bought x940e which is the next best thing. Imagine a 6yr old tv that still hold its own when compare to modern Sony tv in terms of contrast and auto dimming? Well the z9k is the mini led with master drive. It's the modern equivalent of the z9d, which is the true flagship of all flagships. You can expect superb brightness (we are talking 2000-4000nits brightness), with 8k resolution, true color out of the box, super screen uniformity. It will make even the Sony A95k qd OLED's 1000 nit look dimm. Heck...even my x940e reaches around 1150 brightness.
      All I am saying is a lot of OLED fanboy like to exaggerate blooming effect of LED tv, but we are talking Sony flagship z9K, and it's no joke, so just keep an open mind when you come across one, take a look and experience it before brushing it off, otherwise you wouldn't know what you have been missing.
