Its night and day difference in so many ways. I just couldn't justify spending 6k aud when i can get the a95k for almost half . Anyone who has moved up from the a95k to the 95L. Kudos to explaining how XR clear image will improve the picture quality even from external inputs. It's always been an issue that the upscaling capabilities are null and void if you use an external streaming device vs internal TV apps. Great review! However at 13:14 you said Wi-Fi is faster than a wired connection. I can say for me, this is incorrect. My media room is some distance away and one floor above where my gateway is. My Wi-Fi connection is dismal at best.
In any event, for my next TV, I'm going to try and swing the A95L OLED. I currently have a 55" Bravia OLED, I bought in 2020. Without doubt, it's the best TV I've ever owned. The picture is still fantastic 4 years later.

Some brands (like TCL and others) have the expectations that the user will primarily be using WIFI to connect to the internet (due to convenience), so they'll throw in a beefier wifi card capable of higher bandwidth but gimp the physical network connection to 100mbps (standard is usually a gigabit, 1000mbps in most other devices).
if the TV runs on android, most likely one can get a usb to ethernet adapter to convert to 1000gbps capabilities

Yes, that is correct. The Ethernet connection is actually capped at slower speeds than the WiFi is. While Ethernet may be a more "stable" connection on the TV, the WiFi card is capable of faster speeds and is therefore recommend for Bravia Core. For regular streaming, your Ethernet connection should be just fine.

The A95L has a "professional mode" and "cinema" mode. Directors are often looking at extremely expensive reference monitors when they film. So there is no true way to get exactly what they are seeing on a consumer TV. Since Sony is involved with creating movies, cameras, lenses and more, they have engineers who are able to get the directors intent as close as they can on a consumer TV. Cinema mode will slightly adjust the contrast and colors to attempt to look similar to the directors intent but have it be slightly more vibrant since no TV can produce the colors of a reference monitor. In the "professional mode" Sony has spent a ton of research and development to get this as close as possible to directors intent without changing anything else. And they did an incredible job with the new "professional" mode. We'd argue it's the best you'll get in this price range if you want to be as close as possible to the directors intent.

Thanks for the feedback. We were very impressed with this TV and that is why we decided to make a video for it.
Our goal was to provide an in depth overview for someone who wants to learn about all the Sony Tech and Features so they can make an informed buying choice.

Sony Bavaria led 2023 55 inch is the worst TV ever, it's so bad that it's just a panel from being deleted, I paid €800 for it and it lasted me a month and now they tell me that the second panel costs €700 without replacement and that I have to buy a new one.. ..Sony shame....Milan

DON’T BUY THIS TV. Wish I had stuck with Samsung. Picture quality is flat and not sharp. Contacted sony only to be hung up on and an email saying they were too busy to call back. Save your Money! PS. Don’t trust Best Buy TV sales people.

Thanks for the feedback. We will take that into account next time. It can be very difficult to show on TH-cam just how impressive the image is. It will naturally depend on the camera we use, TH-cam's compression and then what device you watch it on. Therefore, it doesn't do a lot of good to try to justify the quality on a video. Instead, we tried to give an overview of the features and describe how great the image is.

Sony’s over reliance on ‘Reality Creation’ + Sony’s over-inflated pricing - no Filmmaker Mode = no dice Sony.
Not in this lifetime. Not ever.
Reality Creation is an abomination, a faux sharpness setting not found on any other brand (thankfully) and can only be defeated by calibration. Disable it, as you should for picture accuracy, and your overpriced Sonys look truly awful.

Interesting take. Many regard Sony TV's as the best looking on the market. They've replaced filmmaker mode with professional mode which is very similar but has very good color accuracy. If you get a chance, you should see the new A95L in person and compare it side by side with your next favorite. We think you may be surprised!

@@AudioAdvice Thank you for taking the time to respond.
Having previously pre-ordered and subsequently returned the A90J, I’m familiar with the Sony picture presets. The most accurate OOTB was the custom preset and the two professional presets were hidden and could be exposed by downloading a calibration app: is that still the case or is the custom preset now called professional?
Regardless, it may be the best picture preset available on the A95L, or any Sony for that matter, but they aren’t picture accurate due to the over processing of the image, primarily by the faux sharpness setting Sony insist on: reality creation.
Filmmaker mode (FMM) tries to follow the industry standards to view content as it was mastered and intended to be seen. For as long as Sony rely on reality creation, the UHD alliance will never allow them the FMM picture presets onboard Sony TV.
The only way to defeat reality creation is by disabling it and then having the unit calibrated.
I also take umbrage with Sony’s continuing baffling decision to limit the onboard Ethernet connection to 100Gbps despite offering a service, Bravia Core, that requires speeds of over 100Gbps to see the media the service offers in the highest resolution available. And does the Android TV operating system still lack the ability to match content frame rates automatically via native apps onboard such as Netflix, Prime etc, etc? It used to, it’s Androids Achilles heel as far as I’m concerned.
Thanks again for taking the time to reply, but Sony isn’t for me. And neither is the Samsung S95 due to undefeatable processing, particularly when watching SDR content and the lack of DV.
For picture accuracy, as well as colour accuracy, I shall be replacing my JZ2000 with either the LG G3 or another Panasonic, the MZ2000 and head straight to FMM.

The professional mode isn't hidden on the A95L. We also wish the Ethernet was capable of faster speeds. And we wish there were more HDMI 2.1 ports. We are pretty sure native apps can match frame rates but this is something we will have to double check now. We appreciate your feedback and totally understand that Sony may not be right fit for everyone! Besides, no TV is perfect. Hopefully Sony can address these things that we bring up and continue to make better and better options. Cheers!
