I feel you handled it appropriately. And I agree that admin wouldn’t have handled it the way it deserved to be handled. I handle the majority of discipline on my own for the reason that admin either doesn’t deal with it at all or sugar coats it and doesn’t deal with it. I’ve been teaching for 25 years at the high school level and the lack of support from admin is at an all time high right now. Based on all the educators I follow on social media accounts, it’s a national issue.

Thank you for sharing. Part of me screams it’s sexual harassment and they should have dealt with more, but at the same time, it might not have had the impact one might think. It’s logged online for others to see if they do it again and that was enough for me. If it happened again, I’d take it further. I took a poll recently and I think the majority of us handle it on our own.

You are such a gem! I am pretty sure I would have lost my cool with the students and acted like a hysterical teacher. You did great and you are right, admin does not deal with students' behavior effectively. Here in France it's the same. You are better off dealing with the problem yourself if that is possible.

France, wow! I am curious, are you also dealing with an influx of absenteeism or does is seem the same?

@@teachingwithalexa yes, We have similar problems. Sometimes parents are completely unaware and even unbothered. So it feels lonely trying to motivate them.
