Date on this, from the serial number is 9751 - ie, 1997 week 51, so this Turbopower1 was made 14 years into the Turbopower 1 production run, which started in 1983. The Purepower launched earlier in 1997 incidentally, which was intended as the replacement for the Turbopower 2 and 3, and yet Hoover were still producing the model (Turbopower 1) that the Turbopower 2 was supposed to replace. Indeed, the Turbopower 1 had a very long production run, albeit the later ones had onboard tools whereas early models from the 80s did not.
Hey Steve how are you? It’s been over a year sence you made a video. Could you make a just vacuuming video? Don’t let that VacuumFacts asshole stop you from making videos he’s just an asshole. Your channel is so much better than his.
Awh we had this when I was 14 in 1996 ! Mum bought it from the Argos catalogue and I remember at the time thinking how great it was to have on-board tool storage but how disappointed that it didn't have any of the "fancy" Turbopower features like a headlight, air freshener, automatic cord rewind or bag-full indicator light . It was the first we ever had brand-new, all others being re-conditioned (fabric bagged hoover Turbopower, Hoover Senior ) and we didn't have it very long as it "stopped picking up " and Dyson had just appeared at the co-op with the DC01 on offer so my Dad bought one of those and we said goodbye to hoover after twenty-odd years .
I did used to like Dysons but I find they cause me sensory overload with partly autism the way it is designed and too fancy as well. Its complicated to describe it but I find when they are stuck in my head dysons it feels intrusive in my day to day activities. I am not keen on them myself personally as much as sebo. Though I do like miele as well
Hey Roger, just wondered and I could be wrong, but that dust that it's covered in looks like plaster dust, which as I'm sure you know is pretty much death for a domestic only vacuum cleaner! I really hope that I'm wrong. Keep up the awesome work on your channel, always enjoyable.
Hello Roger I love collecting vacuum cleaners and I collect sebos mostly. Are hoover turbopowers good like sebo? I am more of a bag machine than bagless. I have been trying to also hunt for a Panasonic mc e47 but they are very hard to find. I own a red sebo x1.1 currently I got new year 2021 and will find out tomorrow if I have won a sebo x1
A well maintained or refurbished Turbopower is excellent for carpet cleaning. I’ve been using one of mine recently and it knocks spots off most modern vacuums, especially on my plush living room carpet.

Great video! I'd love to see a video of your refurbishing it!
This hoover isn't great but it isn't the worst. I like the old English font on the front. Thanks for the shout out Roger.

Looks a well built vacuum cleaner picks up big bits better than my sebo Felix

Are more of a hoover man than sebo or everything in moderation Roger?
@@ibaisaic at primary school my primary school teacher said it's a Hoover hoover when I asked what sort of vacuum he had
And I thought he was pulling my leg
Doesnt sound too bad.
May of been a budget model but wasn't cheap, I paid £100 in 1996
Think my mum got it for £109.00 from Argos at some point between 93-96
Are you still collecting these? As I have the turbo power with tools, the kind of lilac grey colour. Working light too!

I have a hoover preferred works great but the belt is worn out where can I get a new one
Google the model number followed by belt and you should find some suppliers.
Just like Henry!
Except the fact that it's noisy
super
Whats the difference between turbopower u1060 and turbopower u2798?
The U1060 is a later version with a higher wattage motor.
