Some help for you John: 1) U have to do a pose in front of Dryleaf Dane. U have it (He is monk that u were to fight earlier in a letter u found) 2) Those finger quest will unlock some bosses. 3) I hope you remember you can get the bosses weapons and attacks from the remembrances. 4) U have to die Ig 6-7 times to St.Trina to get the full lore. 5) Don't kill those Praying Insects that don't attack you otherwise the quest of Moore breaks.
John deciding to Try It, the very unceremonious death, and then him going back for more was SO funny lmao. Very sillay, Mr. Twolfe. I do love the look of the Cerulean Coast and the area at the end! Very pretty and spooky and ethereal! :D
You can playthrough the entirety of Elden Ring with friends without having to worry about invaders with the "Elden Ring Seamless Co-op" mod on Nexus Mods. Highly recommend and that's how I got my friends to play who otherwise wouldn't have because of the pvp invasion mechanic.
He DOES have to make sure to turn off the invasions in the settings though. Seamless Co-Op does have it's own invasions, but they can be turned off by changing a setting in the mod's files.
Seeing you fight the Furnace golems is so oddly satisfying? The moment you get into the timing of the fight and escape all attacks is very satisfying. Loved the landscapes (and your criticisms of them :p) As always, your commentary is a delight. Also, the putrescent knight is Radahn's corpse, isn't it? It still has poor old Leonard, the build match, and the feet are missing.
No, it's not confirmed to be Radahn. It does look similar, but there are a lot of theories around it. One theory is the Radahn one you pointed out - where it counts be a parallel to Miquella. Just as Miquella loved Radahn, so too does St Trina ( Miquella's other half ) manifest that same love, and the Putrescence Knight is the form it takes, a darker alternate version of it. But the Rememberance it drops specifically says... "All tainted flesh eventually becomes putrescence, and this clump of it imbibed St. Trina's nectar, which granted it eternal rest. And so it was that putrescence became her knight." So it's just as likely to be Radahn as any other corpse or dessicated flesh that Trina has brought back to love. As Saint Trina loves all ( and her love causes them to fall into permanent slumber ) so too is it likely to extend on the dead, and the sleeping, and have them come to life to worship her.

We knows that he took a clump of flesh with red hair; the knight doesn't have a head and neck, which is an oddly specific detail (like the missing feet and incredibly small horse). If St Trina had shaped flesh in Radahn's image, I feel like she wouldn't have used his diminished form as her inspiration... But I guess more skilled theorists than I will explore the topic in details!
Man idk how but John got absurdly lucky missing the lamprey sniper in the finger ruins. That MF shot me from so far away I'm pretty sure they hadn't rendered yet
Yeah, it's very vertical in this map. No full underground but it's bigger than it looks still. I agree I wish they'd made the furnace golems less... boring. They especially suck when they're on a hill or some kind of incline where they don't fully touch the ground when they fall so you can't get the critical. And belated but I'm sorry you're having some frustrations with the DLC. You mentioned you don't feel good at the game, but I think you genuinely play fine for it being your first more Souls-y game instead of Bloodborne. Bloodborne clicks easier with a lot of people because of the faster pace, whereas Elden Ring and Dark Souls are a lot more about timing and patience which can be more hit or miss depending on the boss for a person. But I'm really enjoying the series and I hope you are too, despite getting stuck on some bosses.
Yea I mean, as a fan of From's games, he plays leagues better than I do! Lol! John's the only person I've watched a normal Elden Ring and Bloodborne playthrough of, despite also watching challenge videos.
@@NevermoreRMG I think some extra poise and getting used to using jump attacks more might help him a lot since he's kind of favoring stagger weapons. But other than that he's playing fine. Just needs to get used to i-frame patterns for dodging but that's always the struggle.

My psycho of a friend beat the original Dark Souls 1(as in, not the remastered version) on PC controls, and Dark Souls 1 has arguably the worst PC controls out of any soulslike.
Now, Miquella probably has a dark side like all of us, but I don't really care what he does to Mohg. Didn't Mohg abduct Miquella from Malenia so he could arrange a forced marriage?
Can't remember if John got this dialogue but just in-case spoiler warning Sir Ansbach's dialogue shows that Miquella actually charmed Mohg into doing that as a way to get into the Land Of Shadow.
I really respect John, but seeing him trying to fight The Putrescent Knight, get faced with the smallest amount of friction and then going "Well I don't really like Elden Ring boss design, when I supposed to hit?" just felt a bit sad to me. As someone who really loves the boss design, it makes me sad that people who rely on summons don't get to appreciate their designs that much. I'm not an elitist, everybody can play however they want, its a failure in design ultimately, that a lot of people won't have the patience to actually learn boss patterns because they got used to using summons. I think summons are a cool mechanic so that more casual players can have more help, and get to experince this wonderful game. But it really does take away all the enjoyment of a boss battle and makes it little more than audio-visual noise most of the time.

@@littlekitsune1Running attacks are also great and underused for some reason. They have less recovery frames than jumping attacks.

Hey John you can play co-op. There is a mod called seamless co-op for PC. It allows to co-op the whole game, and both players can use Torrent to ride.
I think the layering of the map and the "lostness" is a way to pad it.

You can play through the entire game co op. There's a mod that helps it on pc for the true co op exp.
