Here's another weird thing that can happen, Adjudicator can kill itself by knocking down rubble on its own head when it's on low health. Found that out the funny way.
@@eleumloycee the way I got it to happen was by getting trapped in the corner near the fog wall and panic rolling lol It took me a second to figure what happened because I thought *I* was dead. As for why I was panic rolling it's because I was very low level and the run back did not sound fun. He hit the upper floor right above me and just collapsed and it took a second for him to disappear so I thought I was in a strangely long death animation myself
I’m surprised by how little challenge runs are explored in demon souls compared to the other games considering all of the unique possibilities that this game offers thanks for fixing that!
y'know; with all the big gameplay features cut. world tendency was the one I cared the least for. its one of those "interesting on paper" ideas that I just did not want coming back. Now burning Bonfire Ascetics; that should've been a returning feature. Especially with NG+ cycles adding new mobs, etc.
That's something I miss about DS2, NG+ actually netting you more than just inflated enemy values. Gives more incentive to try it out than the mere aspect of "stuff just harder" for nothing to show for it but lukewarm bragging rights. DS3 at least offered upgraded rings, but with the silly upgrades Ringed City gave for free in simple NG, defeated the purpose more or less.
@@lsfaraoneits funny how everyone bashes Ds2, despite myself having a few arguments about it, i do agree that Ds2 atleast dared to do a few unique things that are appriciated to this day. DS3 however, felt very safe and hardly worth anything but 1 or 2 playtroughs.
What.. honestly.. is the difference? Like I miss shit like this, goofy mechanics that you don't see anymore give an experience you can't replicate anywhere else
Always love seeing more og DeS content EDIT: Also regarding the end of the video, DeS has the biggest NG+ difficulty spike. Could try a similar PB run on NG+ to experience the hardest the game can get
Excellent vid, for both skill and good commentary! You'd think it'd be the opposite case: that by dying more often, due to insufficient power and/or skill, enemies would become weaker yet there would be lesser rewards. And by dying less often, the enemies become stronger, yet the rewards become greater, whuch would add purpose to the higher challenge involved. But nope: the more you die, the harder the game gets.
A wonderful video to get to watch while trying to fall asleep! Love getting to watch demon souls challenges. Keep up the good work with the unique run ideas!
Thanks! I'm just surprised at the amount of unconventional challenges you can squeeze out of these games even if you've played them a million times lol
I feel like we definitely need more Demon's Souls challenge runs, so it's a crime this channel is as underrated as it is, especially since the editing and humor is just so good imo. And it's always nice to see people suffering with the weirdness of Demon's Souls, so that's fun too.
I just wanted to say, one, that I still love how original your challenges are! No shade to other runners, i love their stuff, but a lot of the challenegs are fairly similar. Second, your voice and presentation feels a lot more natural sounding than when you first started! You sound more like you're just talking, as opposed to reading off a script. Its really nice to see the improvement!
Thanks, I really appreciate it! I've been getting more comfortable lately, at first I was really stiff and not super confident in my own writing, but I've started to worry about it less!
I don’t want to say that I discovered your channel two days ago… but… TH-cam really knows how to surprise me! Keep up the good work, I already love the videos you’re putting out!

The fact that you have the patience to do this challange is impressive and very respectable. I would love to do challenge runs for souls games and record them like you
Great video! Just stumbled upon it on the main page. I see great potential in your content without a doubt :3 I first stumbled upon Demon's Souls on the now defunct Gametrailers site, saw the original trailer and was hooked! Got the game Deluxe Edition at launch, it remains the only 'Souls' game that I've 'replayed' like, 7-10 times on various characters and builds, the paradigm shifts and play style was always interesting to me, great to see something so nostalgic to me but also a challenge/twist added ontop (and its not the Remake!)
Huh, hadn't realized I'd never seen Demon's souls female pc without armor. Is it just me or does she look a lot like Lara Croft? This is a really fun run to see! I had no idea about a lot of the dark world content. I think it's a great shame that even streamers etc that specialize in doing blind playthroughs get told to kill themselves in the nexus, so the intended experience of having an increasingly hard time with a world and needing to go to the other ones to find solutions before trying again just never really happens. The world tendency system definitely has some flaws, but I love (what I assume is) the intent of players having wildly different experiences and pain points on their first runs.
Back in 2013 a friend and I co-ordinated a full pure black world tendency run in co-op. He had never experienced any level in pure black so it was quite a trip.
I love the Phosporescent Pole,it is a magical staff, both melee and catalyst. It is not a type of weapon that appears in any other games in the series.
@@eleumloycee im pretty bias, since I mostly do PVP stuff, but I think that PVP should be more widely accepted in challenge runs--but im also not blind to the fact that there's a boatload of reasons as to why you absolutely SHOULDNT (JK Leads Throwing knife run is a perfect example of this)
You dying to Adjudicator 3 times in your most recent challenge run and the Backlogs dying to Wolnir 3 times in his most recent challenge run can’t be a coincidence…
even though this is the oldest souls game from fromsoft if we dont count kings field, its definitely my most favourite aesthethic wise. kinda invokes this weird feeling of nostalgia even though im barely older than the game. its kinda sad it lacks replayability.

Wish i knew about archthrones before going for platinum. Offline way if anyone is curious for pure black involves an eye for human form, dying, and making sure you teleport back to the nexus before dying again, as it will not register otherwise, 7 to 10 deaths later the world is pure black. (This next method not recommended as it will make character tendency go to black if pure white is needed)That or kill an npc in the world and reload the area by teleporting to nexus to count. And this is the first step for pure white character tendency offline ironically.
I would love From Soft to revisit world tendency, it is such a cool feature though I never did a full run on pure black in my few runs of Demon Souls I have done.
I always forget the absolute disrespect shown to the Maiden in the ending when you kill her. Stepping on her head is bad enough, grinding it into the muck with your heel is just spiteful lol
Uploaded 41 secs ago.... wow Also just wanted to say I loved the last video and started magic run and weapon type wheel randomiser runs based on your rules
I decided to do a pure black tendency run a few months ago and honestly...yeah no it's arguably easier than pure white. It's a bit harder at the start but with enemies dropping more souls and items it compensates really quickly. Granted I did use Demonbrandt and realized that you can just...use soul remains to easily kill black phantom NPCs for that weapon's scaling and I was done in record time. I should really do another run.
