The Heavyblade special giving invulnerability (even just briefly) makes it really good. With careful timing you can use it to negate all types of timed damage (like rose magic, "keep moving", etc.). It also combos really well with items that proc off of invulnerablity (like the Obsidian Hairpin).
That's actually what my friend was telling me. He was even saying that it was his favorite part of the Heavyblade. It's definitely got some crazy potential.
