    There is a small discrepancy in the video (maybe because at a point it was cut). It is true that less than a thousand Bactrian Camels left in the wild, but let it not mean to you that the rest are in zoos. There is over 2 million of them in domesticated herds across Central Asia, Tarim Basin, and Mongolia. These guys were the Cargo Ships of the Silk Road back in the day.
    Extraordinary animals.

      Unfortunately, turns out the Domestic Bactrian Camel and the Wild Bactrian are actually two separate species, known as Camelus bactrianus and Camelus ferus respectively. Thus the domestic numbers aren't used in head counts for the wild ones which, while doing a bit better than at the time of this documentary, are still critically endangered.

      It's true but many bacterian animals are gone like the horse said to be very very fast but would sweat blood due to skin condition, lots of imperial members would be rewarded this horse or known as a kings horse. It's amazes me how something from my country still alive today...

    • @shoelow

      Thank you for pointing that out, @Fwufikins. Unfortunately, even some zoos don’t make the very important distinction between wild and domesticated Bactrians.

    • @breAnnasmama
      @breAnnasmama 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      At ALL COSTS? Really? Even the cost of all human life? The cost of your own, Perhaps? See How over the top it seems when people get on here saying Things like at all costs we must do this or that? Sure ideally we should protect and preserve and care for and respect all living things. Especially being that it is our responsibility and obligation as human beings to Nurture and care for the land and wildlife in it. Sadly we are way beyond people truly having the ability to undo such massive damage in this world. We can only prolong the inevitable a bit longer. We should still work hard and smart in our efforts to protect and conserve in this world and I get where your heart is in that , over what you said .. it’s just that people often say such things when they don’t even know the depth of what they’re saying , in terms of like if they had to abide by their own logic and carry out exactly to the point what they’d promoted , they’d surely try to put limitations and exceptions on their words if they were taken literally and most only say that stuff to be trendy and edgy and to come off as relevant when they wouldn’t even lift a finger to do actual work involved for all these causes they want to sit and just half way say oh we should do all this to save this and that... so many ppl get on social media talking it up about how people need to do something but they do nothing. And they’re oblivious to reality and only say whatever to come off whatever way. Like what are you really going to do ? Sit and say this typical stuff just to hear yourself say it or what ? No offense but it’s all we see on social media beneath whatever vid online.. oh someone needs to do something... “ at all costs “... do you know the gravity of that statement? Let’s be real. Something that doesn’t remotely live where many of these ppl live and they see these vids and wanna say OMG at all costs. Are you going to give up all you have and relocate and go make something happen ? Sadly humans are so often self absorbed and entitled and careless and they often get caught up in commercialism and propaganda and political bs and all the talk but don’t live the walk in their actions. Not saying that of you but how cliché and typical.
