    4 minutes, love it. I like the demonstration, rather than just a vague overview I often see. Thanks, Janis - subscribed:)

    Pigments is one of my favorite synths, and this gave me some new ideas on how to get even more out of it, so thank you for that, and I look forward to seeing more of what you can do with it as well 🙂

    All the white keys is already the dorian scale! Since you are picking random notes it is as likely you'll hear D as the root note (making it dorian) as you are to hear C (making it major). You could also hear it as phygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian (natural minor) or locrian.

    Thank you very much. Its fantastic you also are doing these Pigments videos. I think Pigments is really fun to play around with. Im new to Pigments, synthesizers and all of this, and your tips are fantastic. More Pigments Please, I have also learned much in your Ableton videos :)

    1:00 I feel you. I am fed up of having old project cry out "missing plugin" when you load then after a while. There are bazillion awesome plugins outthere but I try to limit their numbers and Pigments is among them as my go to synth.

    • @JannisLeWolff

      Haha yes, glad to hear you can relate! Sometimes I feel like ignorance is a useful skill in digital music production to prevent yourself from drowning in the noise of new plugins.

      @@JannisLeWolff hi jannis, I saw you using the ableton synthesizers (analog, wavetable, operator) quite extensively. how do they compare to pigments in your opinion? is there anything pigments can do that ableton can't 🤔?

    • @JannisLeWolff
      @JannisLeWolff  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@synthusiast2911 Well, for sure this sequence thing I'm explaining in this video is unique about it 😄 apart from that it basically includes all Ableton Synths into one plus having a Sampler, it also gives you some more coloring options like modeled filters, and overall is this one synth that will possibly never make you wanna buy another soft synth because it just can do it all. Usually with synths I feel like there is always something missing, and here it's some very clever design that - at least in this 3 months I've been using it - always offers a solution. The modulation possibilities are almost endless and offer more than the stock synths- of course you also have to spend some time getting into it. And - last but not least - it looks way more inspiring than the Ableton synthesizers 😄 Nevertheless I also love the Ableton Synths and think they are very powerful for stock synthesizers and for learning!

    • @synthusiast2911
      @synthusiast2911 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JannisLeWolff Yes, the idea of being able to do everything with one synth is tempting. I should probably try it out...

    What we need is a mod where, not only will it generate, keys in one scale. But where it gives us all the other corresponding notes from other scales that will harmonize with that scale. And then we also need a VST like this that will go through all the scales that were ever made. All the blues scales all the Middle Eastern scales.
