    after 4-5 hours in Pigments Sequencer a door opens to another dimension!
    go through it, (dont forget lots of water in your backpack!)

    I'm loving it as it is super intuitive. Using it to drive other instruments is totally awesome as well.

    cool dude, didnt know you could drag the FX modules between sections A and B like you showed. right on man!

    so i have spent hours and hours going thru vital and phaseplant with your videos, and i was just looking for some stuff on pigments cause i grabbed it on sale this week and found another one of your videos. i dont see any others on your channel tho? is this the only one?
    by now i dont really "need" the videos, as i have learned so much, but i like your approach to sound design and i find it to a be a nice way for me to have a more focused path on learning a new piece of software instead of me just making the same patches i always make lol

      I think I have a couple of pigments tutos but only a handful, I should do more

    Love this synth but haven’t tried many of the generative stuff. Generally great sound from the box and I do want to try some randomness

    Pigments 5,in my opinion,the best virtual synthesizer for the price and sound quality about sound processing. There is one question. Is it possible to make an MIDI file in Bitwig from the sequences created in Pigments? I've played around a bit, but when I record to a track, only one note is created. How can I make it so that every note is recorded?

    • @DashGlitch

      set the MIDI input of another track to pigments, record it there then drag over

    dropping in at the end was weird, reviewing it 🙂 it was like hey i made it, noop you didn't

    So do you have to pick your notes now? I thought they had an option to pick a specific note scale like E minor for example.

      Yea I showed that in the video

    I find the sequencer somehow frustrating to use compared to Acid V's sequencer.. I just want a company to have a step note record function with midi out.. does my head in that so few have this option.

      Nothing will ever be as awesome as the 90's Roland sequencer style, NOTHING

    Pigments are really powerfull tool to create nice sounds with that particular generator but I m definetely not happy about how it is demanding by the hardware. Really struggling to work with it. Innovation is cool, going out of the regular UI is best but optimisation is also important. Devs kinda forgot it on Pigments.

      It seems fine for me, even on my old setup I never had issues

    Stochastic is just a fancy word that is a synonym for "random".

    • @BappinProductions
      @BappinProductions 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s a bit more nuanced than that. A typical white noise sample and hold source, modulating osc pitch (quantised or not) would be considered properly random, whereas stochastic pitch sequencing, while impossible to predict has more controllable outcomes because you can set the relative probability that a note or set of notes will play. Weighted probability in this case creates quasi-random outcomes that can be influenced, whereas white noise S&H is equally weighted with no way to modify the distribution and is thus a kind of wild, untamed random doing whatever it likes all of the time 😊

    • @BappinProductions
      @BappinProductions 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In short, it’s a fancier word for random because it is a fancier version of random, a kind of gentleman’s random, with manners, that you can take home to meet your parents 😅
      You can set the parameters like a low chance of flatulence and inappropriate language with a high chance of wit and charm. If you bring random home, they might be witty and charming for the most part, but it’s likely they’ll be dropping their guts and insulting your mother too 😂

    I hate to have to call you out on specifics, but a Krell patch ( surely you must know this !!) is all based on using function generators and the EOC pulse or clock output to drive the tempo of the patch, function generator output goes into a quantizer translating to pitch, FG signal is used for vca/envelope control and Stored random voltages modulate the attack and release of the FG as well as the frequency of a filter shaping the sound, the random synced on every step, so each quantized envelope shape has a unpredicatble filter position, pitch and envelope shape alongside the tempo being just as random 😅 this is not really transferable to pigments , unless the sequencer has a EOC clock option??

    • @DashGlitch
      @DashGlitch  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      A krell's cycle is per step, so the EOC would just be the note on trigger, this can be done either using Pigments Function generator or using any of the mod sources with the note-retrigger mode, just randomize the attack and release and there is technically no difference. The fundamentals are a randomized sequence, with random time and A/R per step (technically the krell is unquantized, I'm surprised that wasn't the issue ;) but anyway, this is just inspired by the krell)
