    Beautiful work as always, this video was truly a pleasure to watch. I love how you were able to modify the kit to make it more realistic and how you solved the problems you encountered. Beautiful model of a phenomenal fighter. Great work.

    You are making this very accurately. But you called the ejection seat wrong. It is not an injection seat, but an ejection seat.
    I look forward to posting the second part of the build.

    Hi! Great work! I have a question. What did you use to clear coat the aluminum engine parts and nozzles when you were done? Every time I've tried a clear coat on Aluminum or metallic silver etc... it instantly turns it into flat grey. Was this a non-issue after you put the wash on the aluminum parts? Also, you got to the part of applying flat white to the exhaust nozzles, you didn't mention the mixture or PSI like previous colors. Can you please provide this? I'm doing a different desert aggressor camo for this exact same kit but plan to follow your engine and nozzles steps exactly, looks awesome.

      Thank you so much for your comment and question. Also appreciated for detail attention of the video!
      Clear coating is to protect aluminum paint from enamel paint which I use weathering (wash) for and also if nozzle is too shinny, it does not look realistic so I make it a little dirty.
      If you use clear coat satin or mat varnish, it is better to try to coat thin, also not to paint several layers again. Because mat vernish contains white material to make it look less gross, and if you apply too much, that material makes fuselage surface too much whiteish.
      Mixture of the paint defers based on the age of paint but usually I mix thinner v. Paint by 70 : 50 ratio or 50 :50. as to PSI I set on 12-15psi and not to try to open nozzle too much.
      I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions!

      @@platoki Thanks for the reply. "Clear coating is to protect aluminum paint from enamel paint " I'm very much aware of this and that is why I asked what you used to clear coat the aluminum paint? I don't see you clear coat anything in the video and I assume you must have to protect the aluminum paint. Like I said, everything I have tried to clear coat metallic type paint like aluminum, changes the look of the aluminum from a metal look to a gray look. This is why I'm trying to find out what exactly you used to clear coat the aluminum. I'm not asking why you would clear coat it, but exactly what you used Thanks

    • @platoki
      @platoki  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your comment! You can also use brush to paint fuselage. In that case, make sure to mix with enough thinner and try to paint thin layer then let it dry. Repeat it again and again, so you could achieve quality surface.

    @9:01 can you advise diameter of engraver for a 1/72 kit

    • @platoki
      @platoki  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment. That depends on your preference, and which area you engrave. I would use 0.1mm. I would not use more than 0.2mm which is 14mm in actual scale. The 0.15mm I used was a little small for 1/48 kit
      but I prefer it. Please let me know if you have further questions, thank you!
