  • What is the role of eosinophils in the immune system?
What are the top diseases associated with increased eosinophil levels?
How does an absolute increase in eosinophils differ from a relative increase?
What conditions are associated with decreased eosinophil levels?
What are the normal ranges for eosinophil counts and what is considered significantly abnormal?
How does an absolute decrease in eosinophils differ from a relative decrease?

Can it be caused by environmental allergens and not food allergy?
It's been 2 years that I get the symptoms (mostly chest pains / acid reflux) when I am at my workplace. When I am away from work for a long period I feel much better and symptoms go away after a few days. I go back to work and the symptoms come again! 😢
Can it be linked to hyperhomocysteinemia?

Sir in amoebiasis or amoebic colitis... The eosinophils levels increase?

Amoebiasis is not typically associated with a significant increase in eosinophils. This is because E. histolytica is a protozoan parasite, not a helminth (worm).

It's rare condition caused by eosinophils and allergic reaction damages gastrointestinal tract.
Treatment is avoid trigger foods and prednisone.

Thank you for your reply. I am on a elimination diet of 5 foods. Milk, (all dairy product), eggs, nuts, gluten, shellfish for 6 weeks. It seems to improve if I stay on it very strictly so far but I have not been able to find the item that causes my allergy if that is the problem. I have been on a few courses of prednisone in the last 4 months as that was the only thing that stopped the gastro. If you come across any further information of my condition I will be very greatfull if you could let me know.
      Kind regards
      Delia (South Africa)
