I was diagnosed at age 15, and now, 13 years later, as a pharmacist, and someone who overcame EoE autoimmunity without any medication, and I think I can offer immense insight. I urge you to explore the carnivore diet, more specifically, what I'd recommend, is carnivore plus carbohydrates such as white rice or sweet potatoes. Thick meats like steak reveal the underlying inflammation, but they don't actually cause it. The cure hides where the cause resides, and for me it was gluten that was making me highly inflamed. I will upload a video soon to my channel, a complete guide, for sufferers of EoE. This condition has taken so much from me in the front end (i.e., shyness, social anxiety, light-level autism, etc.) but offered so much more on the backend, on the other side of that struggle.

I’ve had this for as long as I can remember.
It has been terrifying, and the worst for me is a surging pain in the diaphragm. Turns out my esophagus was so inflammed that apparently, the diaphragm itself began cramping/spasming from my throat’s attempted contractions. Very painful.
I can’t speak during these episodes from the sensation of choking and pain. So the best I can do is give someone a thumbs-up that I’m okay.
BY ALL MEANS I must avoid oats and potatoes. Thankfully a PPI was prescribed to me and it’s somewhat helped.
    But honestly,
living a mostly normal life. Just taking the proper steps and it’s really not all that bad if approached diligently

Had a similar question, my dr’s answer was no.
No, because those are two different systems which process immune system differently. Now as to why the
immune system is different in those two regions… that’s a question to ask an immunologist possibly.
What may become an allergen blip on your epidermis/dermis may not be an allergen to the tissues within your throat, and Vice versa.
My input on allergies is this, since I also have this condition and trying to help out:
Try to make a list of which foods you’ve noticed have the highest risk of an episode. Try to avoid those foods, or at least eat them very slowly and in small, small bites.
If you don’t have one already, try a PPI. They can help.

I know this is months after you asked, but thought I’d answer anyway in case you didn’t find out.
You’re right, PPI’s decrease the production of stomach acid by certain cells in the stomach. The reason it’s used as a treatment in EoE is mainly to help prevent further damage to the esophaghus. While the stomach acid is not the cause of the inflammation in itself, if there is any acid reflux, this can further inflame the affected tissue, thus increasing the number of eosinophils that are recruited to the area, making any difficulty in swallowing even worse than it already was.
They actually had a pretty decent effect in my case for a good few months before symptoms started to worsen again, meaning I had to progress to steroids on top of the PPI.
      Hope that helps

Hi, I'm looking for an opinion from you. A year ago I was diagnosed with EOE, with 25 eosinophils. After steroid therapy I had a complete remission, but given the complications of candidiasis that it caused me, I interrupted the treatment and tried therapy with proton pump inhibitors, but my Eosinophils at the end of the therapy were 30. I have always been left between 20 and 30. I decided to do the 6 food elimination diet, but after 8 weeks my eosinophils became 100, and 50 also in another part of my esophagus. Could anyone give me their opinion on how this was possible. The only explanation I can give myself is that during the diet I was eating too much of a food to which I am allergic.
