To me, this level of creativity is way cooler than trying to tre flip massive stair sets, even though one of my favorite skaters is Chris Cole lol. It really shows how much of an art form skateboarding can be.
I feel ya bro. I appreciate the gritty and gnarly skaters but eventually I got bored of them. Anyone can be gnarly if they have enough guts but creativity is entirely different. I can keep watching Gou Miyagi and Richie forever.

I suffered a severe back injury, I walk with a cane a lot but I can still skate some days and I love just cruising around doing weird stuff!

Light years beyond so many skaters--and a killer 70's rock star wardrobe, to boot. Thank goodness for guys like Mullen, Jackson, Anderson et al. who aren't relying on the same stereotypical, boring tricks as the rest of the skating world but who have individual styles and think outside the skating box to be truly creative and fresh.
Over the 40+ years I've been SK8ing, never have I seen such mind-bending, unorthodox, iconoclastic shredding. My brain had a hard time processing what my eyes were seeing.. As background: in the late 80's/early 90's I sessioned many vert-ramps with Icons - Hawk & the Bones Brigade, Neil Blender, Gonz, Valelly, etc. Guys who reinvented skating every time they dropped in.

I remember back in my day we did the Ollie down the staircase.
Man, this randomly came across my feed years ago when it came out and just like videos like Sorry and Rodney vs. Daewon got me to start skating when I was a kid, it inspired me to pick up a board again after quitting over a decade ago (at the time). Richie's creativity and originality are insane!

The trick at 2:38 is insane. My roommate and I realized that the wheel hit the ledge in such a way that it flipped the board from a no comply. His foot isn't touching the board and I just realized how amazing it was.
