  • 64 year old Volvo still hard at work in the Arctic and now a job to test it to the limits.
    Providing car parking for 250 cars on an area normally lost to the winter and making the village hall completely accessible and safe for a large event.
    Total time spend was 19 hours not including puncture repairs.
    Thank you.

    Mmmmmm... I have the felling that this great gathering would not happen in your village if there was no Simon and the Old Yellow Lady! Great job... as usual!
    I'd be interested to be at that meeting... me thinks the whole region is gathering to discuss the state of the nation... and - to keen Simon's Lapland a cheerful and happy place!!
    Stay safe, free, warm and happy - all of you up there!!

    Monster job well done. Only people that do snow removal can comprehend that degree of work. I did snow removal for 25 yrs. at my job through blizzards & all. I understand what you must have gone through.👍👍🍺🍺

      Thanks Robert, I have only been doing snow removal for Severn years and only local but that was a task and appreciate you acknowledge that. I am only pleased I started way ahead of time because really was not sure how long it would take and my old girl is strong but slow. Have a great weekend.

    Howdy Simon- that’s a lot of snow!!! I wonder how long it take for it all to melt….. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, the village is very fortunate to have you be a part of it. Hope you have a great turnout for the event and you get to be a part of it. Have a great weekend my friend. God bless

      Hello Paul, we can still have snow piles at the beginning of June so just depends of when winter breaks and how warm it gets. I am pleased to have been able to help make this happen. Take care and thank you.

    Hi Simon.. nice job👍 Those LM's are sure buildt to last.. nothing like todays machines with all the electronics and gizmo's that fails and brakes down all the time... certainly those buildt further east... My neighbor has had his wheel loader way more in the repair shop than in working condition. Here we have a taste of spring, with warm(ish) temps, sun and dead calm. It's pretty enjoyable if I may say so🙂 Hope you guys are doing great .. stay warm and safe😄

    @HallnoutMhall 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Well done my friend. I hope the old girl gets a long break and is able to rest her iron. Nice of you to help the village, just hope that it doesnt wear her out more quickly. She is definitely irreplaceable.
    I've been down with my back since midweek. Weather has been good. Had a light rain for about 24 hours Thursday-friday. Around 40° yesterday and supposedly about the same for today then back to 60's this coming week. Snow flurries rolling in here shortly. We have the stupid daylight savings time which we change time spring and fall. Here in a few minutes @ 2am it will then be 3am. We lose an hour. Dumber then a bag of hammers.
    Anyway ive taken up to much of your time. I'll send you an email here soon and include some pictures of things here that i think you might enjoy. Pet Kaspers head, tell Sara hello for me and take a break ole boy. God bless my friend! Thanks for sharing.

      Thank you, sorry about your back I have no doubt it drives you mad. I get so frustrated and little sleep when I suffer so I wish you a speedy recovery. I could tell you to stop doing whatever it was that caused it this time but I well know it can be nothing at all. Take care my friend.

    Exactly right Simon. Any experienced equipment operator knows that the proper method of plowing with a bucket is to leave the bucket full of material. It acts as a blade to push rather than scoop or fill. It looks like fair weather for your task. And am I correct to assume this job is an opportunity to earn from your services? A welcome task by comparison to others you've done (ex. crawl spaces.)

    Snow removal. With loader. At a walmart runs about 150 per hr. And up some 225 per run time . idk. All that snow over time then have to clean it off . its work . see you doing a happy dance . fuel alone is not cheap . ? Loader or back blade for tractor . ya we know sitting in that seat for hours still feel it next morning . arms legs back and ass. Then the neck stiff. Takecare. . $$$$$

    Does your village not have a local government that take care of public building?

    • @arctic-rebel

      To much government is exactly what is wrong with the world, we do have a small committee and I take care anything they ask.

    Gee Simon you must be the youngest guy in the village? I never see young guys clearing snow from roofs etc? You're a community worker

    • @arctic-rebel

    You could open your place up and charge Parking? Lol

    • @arctic-rebel
      @arctic-rebel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are no parking charges here Dave, I would do it out of kindness if it was required. Living in a small village as a young man you have to give way more than you take. I am very happy here.
