Joe, I spent like 3 hours on TH-cam trying to decide whether or not to get the Cold Steel trench shovel, and all I found were videos with people sitting in their garage with pretty much brand-new, almost entirely unscratched shovels talking at their camera. The second I found your two videos on the thing, though, they immediately sold me. Something about the way you actually go outside and stress-test the *shit* out of the knives and products you get is different than all the rest.
You're cool as fuck and your channel is cool as fuck, and I hope things work out well for you whether you end up moving to the States or not.

Fr. Other tests are “OMG look how sharp, it cuts paper. It folds so smooth, go buy my 100$ sharpener”. Like, how often are you using your knife to cut paper. Never? Your cutting rope, cardboard, plastic, wood, fabric. Stuff that’ll wear it down. Probably not necessarily jamming it through the roof of a car, but if it can go through a car you know for damn well it won’t break under normal usage.

Joe, toxic and jealous people are the same in every country. This is especially noticeable in small towns and villages, and I don't think it has something to do with particularly Austrian freedom of speech problems. I think it could happen in any country. Even in the US, some neighbors would be shocked or scared by what they see and could call the cops. For me, it seemed like everybody knows who you are in your little town, and it never bothered you before. Such toxic people will be around us all our life, and we either beat them or they beat us. You've put so much energy, time, and creativity into your videos, and you can't just give up that easily, we all need you here. At some point, those people will give up complaining because it doesn't work, as you haven't done anything wrong. Don't give up!
The difference is here in America it is much harder to sic the government on you for it.
@Joe1twloha Well, the problem with Austria is that people are very conservative here, especially in small towns, unlike the easygoing nature in the US. What is considered normal there may not be the case here. Vienna is not counted, it's very international nowadays and feels like another country. But still, in any civilized country, if neighbors call the cops to complain about a man stabbing a car with a knife and shooting, the police will show up. If those complaints start to pile up, it will annoy the cops, and they will start to see you as the problem and ask you to stop what you're doing, even though it's not against the law but considered weird. This happens everywhere: the UK, Europe, Canada, and the US are no exceptions. Neighbors are the problem 😑
@@Joe1twloha That is another debate in itself. It's getting worse around the neighborhood I have lived in for near 30 yrs. Lots of "new" people are here and they cause problems. And let's not forget the little political cliques either. Certain wealthy people "know people" in law enforcement and if you don't kiss their ass they cause you problems. Indeed the USA is tainted too in its own way.

I’m from Alaska and recently bought a knife for bushcraft. In doing so I researched many knives on many channels. Your the best and your rants are funny as hell.
I think you are right about the jealousy factoring into your situation but I think it’s more about fear. You contrast their weakness, inadequacy. You create, they destroy.

Very common for city folk or rich people from overseas buy land in rural areas here with a mind set by that it's quite and private our build a expensive or architectural residential home in a rural setting when realy actual realy loud th with machinery animals planes and the fact it's the countryside that sound travels when it's quite and with wide open space you can see what your neighbours do at times wether you agree or not and then complain and have wars with the people around them.rural areas normally have the best people, communities but if it gets sour or filled with sad close minded people ...good luck.

Glad to hear none of the knife companies are behind this. It sucks that it sounds like, you're getting in trouble for doing you're own thing on your own property.
I still have my Busse's and yeah I have the TRC's. But I also do not expect too many knives to survive getting smacked on a huge rock, I also do expect breakouts on hard steels when chopping up a car lol. I mean you are doing destruction tests, the whole point is to break the knife, and we all have fun watching.
And despite living in the US, I got in a lot of trouble doing things in mine or my friend's property. This was when I was a teenager, I get home from school and get tackled by cops. Then they wrecked my father's house.
Youre a man of strength and accomplishments. The new breed hates others for that, even here in the USA. Anyone can turn you in for anything they dont like.
"See something, say something" is here now, but always stand up for the freaks and the weak. They are the true heroes! I could puke.

I grew up and still live as a country boy and there is a great influx of those escaping corrupt cites. While I certainly enjoy the entertainment value you provide, your brutal testing methods are actually quite relevant. Few realize that if the situation should ever arise, we expect our knives and other hardware to perform in the toughest of conditions without fail. Lives can depend on it. When you did the Busse tests I said I was nervous but only because you will do what 99% of owners would never subject their blades to in a lifetime; but knowing that you don’t hold back it reinforces my confidence in that company’s owner and quality of craftsmanship that he demands out of himself. I hope these jealous people start minding their own business keep their noses in their own lives, and not worry about what others do on their own property. It's the same here in Norway for the most part. Back in the day most people knew their neighbors, and if someone was doing work on their property the neighbors would come and help out. But now you see very little of people helping out neighbors and friends when they need help. It's a shame really, with less integrity and fewer good people around. I'm a born and bred country boy from NW Florida, right by the Alabama state line (I live in the suburbs now, but still country at heart and always will be).
City folks are different than us and can't mind their own damn business!
They think they need to force their way of life and beliefs on everyone else.
It's so hard for me to accept and understand that people in any so-called free country would have a problem with what you're doing... and doing on your own property.
A man has a God given right to do what he wants on his own property and in his own castle as long as he is not hurting anywone!
I hate what Europe has become. So much history and wonderful cultures and the people have just given it up and given it all away in the name of tolerance or some other nonsense.
But the fact is that the whole world is becoming this way.... and we have to stand up and speak out and fight them tooth and nail.

But you have to understand that Europe views knives entirely differently.
They view them as criminal and threatening because the whole continent has gone soft and woke.

@joex things always get worse before they get better. There was a point in my life where I had lost everything. My wife, my house, my job and my mental and physical health. I was alone and lost until I realized how powerless I was and there are people who have it much worse than me. I don't wish what I've gone through on my worst enemy. You have family. You still can train your body and mind. You have love and support from the youtube community ❤️. Your not alone Joe. And I want you to know that you're chanel helped me. Even when I had to sell all my knives and I had nothing. But I've started over. You can too. At your own pace.
