    Mate, thank you so much for the shoutout! Suspension is all Latin to me. There's a art of setting it up properly for the rider's weight and style of riding that I've never been able to wrap my arms around. It sure sounds like the YSS suspension you have it done right. Like day and night difference. Keep on kraken! Eric

    YSS isn't available in my area. I swapped the factory crap, with FOX adjustable shocks, and am very pleased. I no longer bottom out to crack my spine, and the recovery is very fast. I also no longer experience the "washed out" feeling on tight corners. That alone was worth the change!

    I'll have to consider this somewhere down the line. I've just upgraded to a 2020 GSX-S1000 in blue which I've been coveting for years, coming from a lams Yamaha MT-07. I don't even have the words to describe it. It's just better in every regard and absolutely exhilarating to ride.

    Cheers for the review. Thinking about the yss stuff for my cb650r. I'd rather spend money on suspension rather than an exhaust.

      @MRTPR  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree, I sound of the stock exhaust on the GSX is awesome. Well worth spending the money on the suspension. Take you for dropping by 👍

    I was going to upgrade the suspension on the ZZR if I had kept it. The Big Concour 1400 has awesome suspension (as far as I can tell).

    I'm really surprised you couldn't find the right setting on the original shock as that is a relatively new model. If the YSS suspension comes set for your weight then I doubt they have anything robust enough for me! 😂😂 My NT700 has an easily adjustable knob on the side that you can turn to alter the shocks setting but I very rarely have to touch it. Nice to see you back all the best.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you mate, the stock shock was just a bit harsh as I am not very heavy. Even with the YSS I had to get the lighter spring. Thanks for dropping by 😎

    Nice vid but a couple of things. I'm looking at YSS for my Gsx 1400. Want adjustability and 600 quid ish. Loved your straight up as it is commentary by the way. Made me think have you done anything with the forks and as a rider of 45 years I've had a few bikes myself so how long have you been riding them? And which model and price YSS did you get.

    • @MRTPR
      @MRTPR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have only been riding for about 10 years, I have only made the forks a little softer as they were to harsh from the factory. The shock is the base line line product, good enough for what I need. On the box was TOP LINE gas shock absorber N. The price was around $700 Australian dollars. Thank you for your interest and I hope this helps a little.

    Thanks to your review i have also bought an mz456 rear suspension shock just like yours for my cb1000r, so thanks for the info!
    Mine came with a 56-160-150 spring fitted, the 160 is the compression number ( strength ) and the 150 is the uncompressed length of the spring.
    Are you able to have a look at the numbers on your spring and leave them in the comment?
    Haven't ridden it yet because of the rains here in NZ but curious about the numbers, we like all your video's, well done;
    cheers mate.

      Hello Max so sorry for the late reply, have had some work and family matters that I needed to focus on. I am not at home as I am travelling, once I return in a couple of weeks I will check the spring out for you. I do remember changing the spring to a softer one as the one that come for my body weight was to stiff. The softer one is much better. Cheers

    I have been considering upgrading the stock on my RE Hunter 350 being a cheap bike I did not want to go crazy price wise. I just want a more plush ride the little hunter I have been told that diablo (maybe K-speed too) shocks are OEM from YSS factory in Thailand saving a few hundred bucks AUD over the YSS. Not sure if they are identical still trying to get spring specs for them. But they look the same and also made in Thailand so most likely OEM YSS which is what I have been advised from sellers.

      Hi mate I got them from Hoey racing suspension in Adelaide South Australia. They are called YSS suspension, sorry don’t know the exact name but they are the basic option without the external adjuster. Hope this helps.
