At first I thought Andy had been hacked and this was an imposter. The tractor started right up and didn't break down mid project. He started with presumably enough material. Thought ahead that he can't forget where the wire is if he doesn't bury it. All very suspicious. But then came that horrible noise which I guess was singing and not a piece of machinery dying. Of course, once "the generator " happened I knew it really was Andy.
"As long as they're tall enough they don't hit a tractor and kill somebody it's fine." As someone who works in civil engineering (subdivision design,) I approve this message LOL.
half assed tip on the generator, cause I have a junk one too. as long as you have spark and fuel, pop the spark plug out and spray some carb and choke cleaner down the hole, put the plug back in real quick and give it a tug. she'll pop right off
As a fella who's been designing power lines for a fair while now, can you please drive an earth stake at either end. Those circuit breakers to which you were referring need a return path to operate in an earth fault. (Earth being the return path and also to the 3rd wire when, you know you're following those pesky rules) If you drive the earth stakes, a fella or fellette might have a chance of surviving... Just saying, whilst tryin to mind my business ;)
I have a westinghouse 9500 that looks similar to that. Mine had a ton of trouble starting until I realized there is a manual choke switch under the fuel tank near the air filter.
I've got a great property. There's a couple of things about it that I wish were better, one of them being ground that was easy to dig. But that's ok... yeah, it's a mountain of flagstone in need of explosives, but I'll make it work.
Those Harbor Freight Generators run forever too! A few years ago, I worked for a mobile Veterinarian who basically used converted car hauler trailers for their mobile clinics. They started with 2 Honda generators and one small HF generator for the small trailer. The Hondas they had to keep sending to only one Honda dealer in that area that would work on them and then settle up on the maintenance. The small HF generator, we got their 2 year warranty and then every 2 years, we empty the generator of fluids, take it back, and buy the new warranty. Even the stores told us to do this when we bought 2 new larger generators from them. They were used heavily for those 2 years and then got new ones.
I really need to know considering it's ac and 240, if a bird lands on one wire will it fry or if it's dumb enough to land on the pole and wire. For science of course.
Just wanted to let you know you have inspired me to start my own channel I hope someday I’ll be successful enough to possibly do a collaboration with you keep up the good work bud
Great stuff. (Except for the Glen Campbell impersonation. LOL) Am a bit disappointed there weren't at least a couple of "Ler 'er wobble"s in this masterpiece. Keep it up Andy!

I have a champion dual fuel generator from tractor supply and I love it but it is IMPOSSIBLE TO PULL START COLD without a shot of either but fires right up no issues with the electric start
If the starter goes out take the pull rope off and use an impact on the crank nut till you can get a starter I've been using this method on mine daily for over 2 years I keep saying I'll get a starter someday but haven't even looked into where to buy 1 or how much they cost yet I imagine they're not as cheap as they were the day it went out
Best advice of the day...'do me a favor and mind your own business.' Quote that a lot of people now days need to hear.
Amen!

Thanks, Andy. I've had Wichita Lineman stuck in my head all morning.
"I don't know how many building codes were violated..." All of them, that's how many, Andy. All of them.
A good woman will always help you find the hole if she's on board with the project. 😊

Just another day at Andy's Sketchy Little Homestead. 🤔 Ah, life is good. We just make it up as we go along. 😂
As a union electrician, I'd say that's good enough. When you get a chance, maybe change out the bare copper with insulated wire.
Everyday with a new video from you is a good day. Always love your videos and how down to earth you and your family are!! Keep on trucking Andy!
Been waiting for Monday to show up. Andy doesn’t disappoint.
Finding the hole without help, you've reached a new plateau..
Fortunately there was only one to choose from this time.
Harbor freight predator genny, best way to go bud 😂.
Andy, Sir, I am jealous of your soil depth situation. We need to drill through, almost all the time, if one wants to go deeper than 6 inch.
In hindsight, a post hole digger attachment for the tractor may have been a good idea.
Miss this guy, hope everything is going good with you and your family!
Just an honest guy doing honest guy stuff! Nothing but good things to see here!!
Aerial has less resistance than under ground. Good choice! Less squirrels with bare wire lol
ah geez, Andy's gonna be designing a Tesla sawmill if this keeps up!
4'-0 x 1/2" ground rod at generator and bound to frame and 8'-0 x 5/8" ground rod at trailer bound at panel.
Would be good.
Sketchy is correct. If and when it fails, I recommend replacing it with insulated wire and add a lightning arrester with a ground rod.
Well, you kinda knew the words. Not sure about the "sing" part but I'm on board. Let'r wobble.
That’s great more people should just learn to mind their own business!!
You're our favorite DIY videos person who reminds me of me 40 years ago! Even my wife loves you so 💗!!
I have only one advise for you just keep those videos coming. Love them.
I have a westinghouse 9500 that looks similar to that. Mine had a ton of trouble starting until I realized there is a manual choke switch under the fuel tank near the air filter.
I had manually adjusted it. A buddy told me the fuel solenoid to the carb won't open if the battery is dead. So I'm gonna charge it up and try again

As usual the permit and inspection approval are in the mail. This system would pass most regulations somewhere and that's what's most important.
Sometimes you just have to let it wobble!! Lmao stay safe Andy!!!
ANDREW, AFTER A 18 HOUR DAY 'S WORK, YOU MADE ME LAUGH. THANK YOU 😊

What's the channel name and what's it about
There are specifications and guidelines for how high, how far apart and why, based on how much power you're moving. It is important.
Andy.
It's always fun. Nice job getting it done. Boe 😊

Andy thanks for such an entertaining vid more power to you sir
I need to do something similar, get some real power about 500 feet from the source. Overhead might be the way to go.
Nice video Andy!!!!!!
Great video!
I guess at times like this.. probably a good thing that you are a volunteer fire fighter!! 🤷♂️
I could have sworn you had an auger rig for your tractor
Bet that particular tractor is not currently running

Love your work
Miss ya Andy
The reason a well pump only uses 2 wires is it is in water in the ground, can’t get better grounded than that.
Love the videos keep them coming

I only wish I could do half of the things you do; they would put me under the jail here in New Jersey.
It's in a generator, he hits a wire the breaker will pop
Birds don't land on wires in Michigan apparently.
If it's works is it a dumb idea?
Nope

What happened to your auger? It would have been handy here and for the deer fence.
