Hey Marius! Tolles Video!
Calcium score is actually quite cheap to get done, heart MRI w/ radioactive contrast will show a doctor everything. Most likely totally covered if doctor requests it
One thing about calcium scans is to think of them as showing only the tip of the iceberg. Even with 'zero' scores, there could still be plenty of soft plaque not yet calcified. I wouldn't bother with one at a young age though unless like you said, there is a family history of strokes or heart attacks. A score of zero at age 30 doesn't mean as much for someone at age 70 getting that same score. All young people should have a zero since they have had less years for calcification to take place, whereas a 70 yo has had a lot longer to build it up. Edit: Let me add that I did a calcium scan at age 64 and got a 'zero'. Currently (a couple months later), my Lipo(a) is 57 and my Apo(B) is 159. So as you can see a calcium score doesn't always tell the whole story.
Thank you for sharing your insight here. Very helpful. As to myself, I used to smoke in my 20s and hence am curious to check & there has been a family history of strokes. Are you aware of any better mechanisms that can reveal plaque?
My lipoA is 72 and my apob is 101. Just got the results. Looks like I’m getting on zetia. For what’s it worth, there are some videos on TH-cam you can find of people taking berberine and 4g omega 3 per day and that had a great affect. But given my other heart metrics are not good, I’m going to do everything at once and get this down as low as possible
Having thought about your video for a while, Why do you try 3 steps at once? Many people think Bryan makes the same mistake. No transparency of cause and effect. If you allow, try the diet change first for one month. If that does not yield good results try something else like lifestyle change (before supplements imho). Try to always avoid medication. You've got plenty of time to lower your Apo(B) Lp(a) naturally and thus sustainably. I have been 100% free of medication and supplements for over a decade now.
I love your rational and clarity of thought. Thanks. Actually, I now have delayed taking Nustendi as a medication. And am trying just diet and supplements now. Outside the challenge I do have no time limit, yes. But inside my 10K challenge, I try to optimize until my budget runs out (probably within the next 2 months). Also, interesting content on Lucid Dreaming you have there, something I still am trying to develop myself. Subscribed :)
@@Fountain-of-Youth I am very curious how your short-term experiment turns out and your long-term development. Impressive you delayed Nustendi and go natural. Also, looking forward to a great longevity discussion with you on our channels. Thanks for the subscription, Marius!
Where should one get tested for Lp(a) and ApoB? Are there any other related markers one should ensure they should get measured at the same time? Awesome video, will bookmark for the future, thank you!
Thank you! I just got tested at my doctors through a blood panel. Optimally I would get a whole lipid panel including LDL, HDL, Triglycerides, Apo(B), Lp(a) & maybe CRP to check inflammation. And depending on how old one is I would consider a calcium score to assess overall CVD risk. But thats all just to assess initial risk. Personally I‘ll check Apo(B) regularly now and once a year a wider blood panel.

Thank you. I am still waiting on a quote from my local clinic.
Are you plnanning to do video about how Q10 and Natto helped or did not help with your ApoB and LPa numbers?

Thanks for sharing! I'd be very curious to hear how Zetia has helped you lowering both after a month. I wish you good luck & health!

Exactly. Medication is not worth living 20years longer (which it will not do) because it will fuck you cognitive abilities and many others things.

Where do you get tested for that?
I took a blood panel through my doctor
Heard Niacin may help ….high dose
Bob Harper had high High Lp(a). He had a heart attack and almost died. look it up

@@Fountain-of-Youth Brilliant, I'll look into that thank you :)
Niacin 20 percent lower LPa
Thanks for the tip. Niacin is already part of my supplement stack. So I would need to leave it out to see if it has some effect on my Lp(a)
