They should have called it phoneix , sorry that name is already taken by another roller coaster from San Antonio that was the rocket. Phoenix is now at Knoebels in Pennsylvania unfortunately I didn't get to ride that one.
Goliath has pre-interesting lore I never knew it was a relocation good job, man 👍 (also I have ridden goliath before on my family trip to San Antonio when I was nine years old)
Fiesta Texas is luck to have this ride in there collection as it has rich history going to Japan and then the U S A and surviving a Cat 5 Hurricane. There aren’t many coasters like this one that survived the severe flooding Katrina left behind.
Batman went to Darien, my home park and sat in storage across the street for years, until it was finally scrapped several years ago. Darien actually got 2 rides from Astroworld, the other one being The Big Kahuna, the giant family waterslide which was finally repaired and reopened this season from a broken conveyor belt.
I think it was originally themed to Mr. Six so if I had a nickel for every roller coaster ever themed to Mr. Six, I’d have two nickels…which isn’t a lot, but it’s interesting that it happened twice
The coaster is alright, it’s a coaster a usually skip when I go to SFFT but it’s fun. With more theming and a name change it could be better. And maybe new trains
@ that’s cool, but it won’t interest me to ride it over rides like, dr d, iron rattler, Superman and others. If I’m being honest I would rather them remove this ride than upgrade it
I saw this coaster a few years ago and didn’t know that is was form SFNO. I didn’t ride it but I was dying to go to six flags fiesta Texas. Luckily my cousins used to live in San Antonio so I took the chance to get there when I could.

Road Runner being relocated proved that the entire theory of Goliath surviving because it was "high off the ground" bogus, that, and the fact the section between the final loop and the corkscrews is literally hugged to the ground.
I didn’t think about road runner but I wanna say why that coaster survived too was because it was cheap to fix. Six flags maybe could’ve saved the jester or the boomerang but the budget didn’t allow for its renovation
My only complaint about this surviving coaster is that because of the transport, it simply isn't as smooth as most of the batman: the ride B&M models. Not to say Fiesta Texas doesn't take care of there stuff better than pretty much the whole chain. I hope with the merger, that will improve, as much work seems to be going on all over the place, new or just more paint jobs, renovation, clean-up, removal of actually bad and/or endless malfunctioning coasters even. HOWEVER, I do feel like while I'm not a fan of the B&M vest restraints, they have improved. People who have ridden Monster at Grona Lund can attest to this. I went there to visit a great friend (my only overseas visit and having a place to stay helped with the bill then) and we went there because reasons, very different feeling from like say X-Flight even (too constraining, you should feel like you're falling out some on the drop). I really think this one should get new trains and those restraints, with a touch of a little more theming like a lot of this park has too! Also honestly, was the vekoma boomerang actually that destroyed? I mean, the way they take them apart and refurbish when one is bought and moved, you'd think it was salvageable and it could've definitely gone to great escape or somewhere that could've used a new coaster at the time (I know most had them, and it's better that SFGADV has the super boomerang minus not having switch track for two trains, c'mon guys really?). If it was around, it could also get the new trains from Vekoma, which honestly they all should have, morey's piers did it to there's!
"Invert" is short for "inverted," which is the _category_ of this roller coaster. It means the train hangs from the bottom of the track instead of riding on top of it. I dislike the name "Goliath" for this small roller coaster _and_ because Six Flags uses the same name for different roller coasters around the world. I know they do this because of their connection to Warner Brothers, but it's still uncreative & boring. I also know it's mostly coaster enthusiasts who even notice this since we often travel to different Six Flags parks.
Fiesta Texas is my home park and we always hit Goliath first.
Technically survived a cat 3.. Katrina was a 3 at landfall.

Knoebels is my local theme park and it’s my 2nd favorite coaster at knoebels

Thanks man 🙏🏽

Goliath is
30 years old now
Got relocated twice
Survived a CAT 5 hurricane
And is still going strong
The Power and Reliability of B&M my friend, the Toyota of Rollercoasters.
And now it's getting a repaint and possibly a new name.
Many Astroworld coasters were relocated, but never reassembled (Ultra Twister and their Batman being their example)
@@history_leisure exactly that’s why it’s so crazy how Goliath survived 3 relocations one thru a Hurricane

Road runner express also survived the category five hurricane Katrina and remains operating at six flags magic mountain.
Road runner express was saved ad moved to six flags magic mountain here lol I need to ride that

This and Great White are probably the most important batman clones

SFFT just announced that the ride will be renamed and retheamed to better fit Los Festivals. Will now be Chupacabra

That was a great video. And yes I've written Goliath before.
Appreciate it ❤

The scariest ride at sfot is probably Texas faint or Superman
Did you know that all lower supports on Goliath has been replaced. Can notice welding lines on around 8 feet from ground.
@@turboshelby8322 I did not know that! Super interesting thanks for that fact 🙏🏽
@@JBThrills they had to due to lower was submerged in salt water and had to replaced to prevent future rust spreads.
Bright Sun Films did a documentary about Six Flags New Orleans. it's called Closed For Storm
I’ve seen it it was so good 🔥
It survived that it deserves a place at fiesta forever and something is telling me it was meant for gambit aka Batman the ride
Did they try putting the park in rice? lol. What other rides ended up being saved and where are they at now?
@@markvolpe2305 the other ride was the kiddie coaster moved to SFMM as road runner express
We have 3 Batman clones here in Texas. 2 of them in San Antonio.
@@TexasDroneSpecialist yup my favorite ngl is Goliath it’s so smooth

WHY DID THEY PAINT IT BROWN 😭😭😭
@@adventureswithjonah2513 yea I miss the navy blue too but it’s not too bad
They wanted a french fries dipped in chocolate theme 😉😉
Hurracien Milton.
My home park and I have yet to ride Goliath. Also didn’t they film Jurassic World at SFNO
Yup they did 🫡
I bet any amount of money B&M also referbished it
NEW vid🎉🎉 🎉
Ah yes, to live in a state with three 'Batman' clones
I rode Goliath in 2014. I hope to be able to go back to Six Flags Fiesta Texas because it has been 10 years since I last went.
It's my home park and one of my favorite's in the park.
