I passed my bike test 29th Feb 16, picked up a new crossrunner on March 3rd and have to date done 5000 miles on it and absolutely love it. Thanks Richy for the overview.
By the way, thanks to your excellent short series on the CR and CT (plus a few other vids) I bought a 2019 CR in December. I love it! About the only thing wrong with the 2015 model was that it needed an adjustable screen. Well, Honda listened and mine has that too 👍. Now, if we could only get out and ride...
Good vid - on the diving under braking: Honda made a vee-four 750 I had once, it had a valve that operating the front brake mostly closed, so the forks only moved down a little when braking (throttled off the damping fluid in the front fork). That was in the 1980's. Here we are, 3 decades on, still bikes dive at the front when you brake - does anyone actually WANT that?! Other riders commented, it was really excellent. BMW boxers with the wishbone front suspension apparently, it's inherently anti-dive. Look, I have a Y2K Divvie now, I just put stiffer springs in it - but on a 2015 decent-sized Honda? There's an inability to hold on to good bits of technology.
Yep, that left turn at Oakerthorpe has had that pothole-strewn surface for ages now Richy. I don't think it's any better five years' on and the creases are just where you don't want them when on two wheels 🙄
Thanks for the update. I wonder if you get to boot around on the 1200? I bet you like it more than the 800. But I will wait on baited breath for the next installment from the great Wildbad Touring Lads. Cheers
robert mulqueen Nothing I have ridden would make me change my VTEC Robert. I was worried getting back on her after this test would make me realise she's over 10 yrs old. Nope. Still felt a much better bike.
Well, that sitting up straight malarkey never wore off mate did it 😉. Nor did the “Reet weirdness” of not having a clutch 😳.I love pootlin’ around some of these old uns Ruch. Hope you got back safely from the big adventure up North pal 👍
@@RichyVida Egone’s grown, you’ve shrunk and the channel is way more polished. For different reasons than me though mate (ie, needing foreigners to understand me), you have deffo softened your accent just a bit - same as me. Glad you’re home mate. Had my log burner in the new gaff on full stream whilst you’ve been up there, so I can imagine how cold it was pal
Rode a crossruner must admit i liked it then rode vfr 800 well rest is history i bought it ! not ridden crosstourer looks a big old bus ridden vfr 1200 that was nice.
Crossrunner. I've tried the Vstrom 1000 but it's too tall for me. Also both the 650 and 1000 both seem a little top heavy. The Crossrunner carries it's weigh lower which provides me with more confidence as a vertically challenged fella 👍
I saw your video about the Michelin Pilot Road 5. Would they be suitable for a BMW R1200rt? My reason for asking is that they recommend Pilot Road 4 GT instead of the Pilot Road 4. They don't make a GT version of the Road 5. cheers
nice bikes, hope they perform well, too bad Honda cuts down on horsepower. Would make every ride even more enjoyable, that and better seats, 6th gear, standard heated grips, seat and cruise control, less front fork diving wenn breaking ... :-)
😂😂 a no was just looking at him on the crosstourer vfr looked OK for him I'm going to look at one bit worried about my height 5"8 guess I'll find out on Tuesday if it's OK
+bampie1 Since English isn't my first language I had to look that one up..... Interesting how you can articulate yourself with such verbal abundance...... However I continue to find DCT geared bikes rather uninteresting..... Have a great day .....
The bike in DCT form is a very good bike faster than the manual am I right to assume that you have never ridden one. Also the new R1 comes with a DCT option but if you consider that bike uninteresting then maybe you just don't like bikes, however your options will slowly disappear because they are the future.

Good looking bikes. We will see how the ride in part 2. Honda is about to begin selling the African Twin in the US of A. It's about time.

i like the looks of both bikes.
Great video....not sure on the bikes looks? Couldn't justify changing my VTEC any time soon.

Self cancelling indicators eh, the latest thing ? Not quite, my 1977 RD 250 Yam had them, that was then & when all new bikes should have had them.

Back safe and sound. Must re-visit this myself, just to see if there has been any growth! Haha

@RichyVida, Which bike would you buy? A HondaCross runner or a V Strom 1000?
🤔 is have to try the new Crossrunner....

I can’t see why not, John. Let me ask the Q to Mitch’s tech guy..
thank you

I enjoy the reality of this video
Like 17" wheels on Crossrunner...wish the Crosstourer had them
How tall is Egon

May have to go for a test ride of one of these babies...maybe be birth and see how they compare to the V-Strom.
NI NEED TO SHOUT IN THE WIND, WE CAN HEAR YOU JUST FINE
See what you did there... 👍

As soon as I saw it's a DCT I lost interest.....
I didn't like the idea of it, but it does grow on you.
