Thank you for this. I've had to come into a job left half done by another person with close to zero knowledge of what to do. Your video helped me feel comfortable enough to get the job done safely

Thank you! I still have the old springs and plan to do a physics lesson on springs.

The springs are color coded. It looks like you brought the 110 lbs white springs and there was blue springs on the door.

im actually looking to do this exact thing.. arent your springs that you were replacing "blue" so heavier than you bought?

The springs I replaced were 16 years old which may have been a different brand with different color coding from the brand I bought this time.

This is a bit dangerous in sequence. You suggest weighing the door after spring cable is disconnected. The door is then down. Without spring assist how do you get it up to reinstall springs?

Firstly, thank you for watching! It was not an issue for me because I am physically capable of deadlifting a 100+lb door. Of course, viewers who decide to take on this project will have to do it at their own risk and understand the physical demands of the task. I also had to measure the door because it had been so long since the springs had been replaced, and I did not remember the door's weight. So, it ended up being a good opportunity to illustrate on the video.

A safer approach is needed. While many post 80s doors are light, older doors are often in the 170-210 lb range.

How much should one expect to pay for this service to be done for their garage?

I'm not sure, as I never hired anyone to do it.

Good catch. I was so concerned with getting the shot on the camera that I didn't notice the missing section of the flange. That will go on my list of things to replace.

The rollers looked okay to me and they spin easily. What am I missing that is tipping you off that they need to be replaced?
