You’ve got the heart of a teacher, meaning you’re making us all feel like we’re fully capable of doing this too. And this kind of work can be applied to almost any head. Well done.
Wow thank you Paul, that honestly means alot. I enjoy doing these things and have always had a passion for it. I enjoy being a mechanic but I also really enjoy teaching others. This industry is full of guys that dont like to share tips and tricks and believe they way they do things is the only way. Just as much as I love teaching, I also love to learn and try new things. I always say, if you think your done learning get out of this trade haha Cheers man!
@@cuttersperformance my favorite saying is the more I learn the more I realize I’ve got a lot to learn. Also, it’s what you learn after you think you know everything that counts.
I love vortecs. I want to thank you for your information on smallblock vortec heads I did a build for my son a .060 over 350ci which you know it yields 360ci and she is nasty and believe me she was on a budget . I will also apply the shrouding technique that you posted on my 327 and 400 build and I will keep you posted on the results.
I love vortecs. I have a 97, 454 and while it says vortec right on it, not sure if its the same. I've seen bee hives used on a bbc build in conjunction with a cam swap. From what I understand I can only have 500 lift anyway . I took my driver's test in a gmc truck, 454. Still had leaded gas, higher octane. Higher compression. Sad how lame newer ones are. Dream of a return to glory.
I'm very excited for this comparison also, I actually just sold a set of vortecs and ordered the AFR Enforcers. It will be interesting to see the results.
I love vortec!!! Currently building a 383 stroker for my 1989 c1500 5 speed. It's going to have vortec heads, comp Xtreme energy marine Cam 12-236-3 with Holley sniper efi. I built this engine to replace the 305 that is not up to the task for pulling my 4500 pounds rv trailer. Hope it will be enough too follow trafic up hill.
Porting has come so far in the last 30 years! Smaller ports.....more flow! It's more about the perfect shape that works than hogging them out. I've never ported automotive heads but have ported many two strokes and it's the same concept! Make the port flow....keep the hole SMALL! Your content is awesome I'm so glad I subscribed and really enjoying your channel
I love vortec heads I'm seriously interested in the spring and retainer gif because nobody else has made any improvements you seem to be the only person I've seen so far
Between you and AvE, it’s clear only Canadians are smart AND have a sense of humor. Besides Freiburger and Dulcich. They’re pretty good too. Anyway, yr channel rules! Doing great things with junk. That’s the true hotrodder way. Thank you PISSCUTTER! 🛠🤠👍🛠

Make power and have fun doing it! Ps. Id love to hang with the roadkill boys haha 😄 Finnigan, freiburger and Dulcich very cool and smart guys
I Love Vortec's! I have a set of 906s on my 89 5.7L MerCrusier with a Comp Cams Xtreme Marine flat tappet with 0.480 intake lift and .489 exhaust. It's a 224/234 duration 112 LSA. I want to install the next size up in a hydraulic roller cam but I either need your spring kit or I need to machine the guides down with the .530 kit from Comp Cams. Thanks for all your insight on the different SBC heads!
I love vortecs. GM really put alot of experience into these while redesigning the the entire small block l.s. platform. A perfect balance of flow and velocity. Perfect for the street wedge head.
Saw the video where a 1.60 exhaust valve was flowed with good results. Back in the day of porting and flowing L98/ZZ4 heads, we would install 2" intake ( no need for new seats) and 1.60 exhaust to improve flow with minimal machining. What about the vortecs? Whats the largest valve they can accommodate? Is it worth the trouble?
I Love Vortecs. Gearing up to refresh my 5.3 and these would tops things perfectly. Great job on the content, especially the explanations of where, how and why.
i love vortecs! Just building my 350 vortec engine for my 1951 chevy pickup, a bit more lift and a new cam would be nice in the truck :) cheers from Sweden
