Kawasaki threw a TON of money and resources into the design of this bike. It shows. The engineers did nothing wrong when they made this bike. Its so nimble for how big and strong it is. Its immaculately styled, has the best aero of any bike. The spent a LOT of time in the wind tunnel with this bike. The stock mirrors are AMAZING, never change them.
I have a full titanium single tip Brock's exhaust and 150% do I recommend getting that one.

I have one m.y. 2012. Where i live (Italy) is named ZZR 1400. I used to ride a 2008 CBR 1000 back in the day, which was a really fast machine. But the ZZR is in another league. Sometimes i got even scared about how fast this bike is. Accelerating full throttle is kind of a mystic, supernatural sensation... Awsome monster. Congrats to all the ZX14R buddies.

I bought mine brand new in Feb of '21. It's my dream bike. Love it! GOBS of horsepower and torque throughout the rev range! Extremely stable at high speeds, and doesn't get upset when you hit bumps at any speed!
There's so much torque, that when I'm at freeway speeds, in 6th (which is probably 3,000 RPM or so) if I suddenly need to pass someone, I have zero need to downshift. I just roll on the throttle (a little) and I'm suddenly getting close to triple digits! Bone stock!
People talk about the weight, but it's a matter of perspective. When you're at a light, or stationary, sure... if you lean her to the left so you can sit upright and keep your foot on the rear brake, you're going to feel her weight on your left leg. Is she heavy compared to a Harley or Goldwing? No. Is she heavy compared to a Ninja 400? Of course! But you adapt to your bike.
But once you're rolling? She's still VERY nimble! The weight is what keeps her steady in sketchy situations, however.
I regularly go out on 3+ hour rides, and it's awesome! Right around that point is where I need to give the glutes a rest, but otherwise, 30 minutes for some grub, a little bit of a stretch, and I'm right back out enjoying the ride!
The ZX-14R does require a responsible rider, though. The power is so brutal when you get into it, that it doesn't take much to get you into "prison speeds".
This bike begs to be run at track speeds! And she does it SO well! She's completely stable and confidence building well past a buck fifty. And the acceleration experience and force throwing you back is so intense that it's easy to miss the shift to second or third!
    She's such an incredible bike!

I have a 2022 ZX-14 and I absolutely love the exhaust. The 4 into 2 looks great with the big exhaust cans. I'm 50 and not interested in modifications at all like I used to be....I put a 4 into 2 into 1 exhaust on my ZX-11D way back in the day, Vance & Hines SS2R and it looked and sounded awesome, but many of the aftermarket pipes for the ZX-14 really detract from the look of the motorcycle because they are too small. I'm 6'2 and weigh 245 and the main reason I love this bike, other than the fact it's a Kawasaki and I'm very partial because Kawasaki is pretty much all I've ridden, is that the bike is BIG and heavy and comfortable and I'm not uncomfortable on it at all. Yes, it's a bit long in the tooth, especially compared to the new Hayabusa, which is friggen awesome and a hoot to ride, but I like old school and I love my big Ninja. I am very curious to see what Kawasaki will do when they discontinue the ZX-14 and build a new and updated motorcycle to directly compete with the Hayabusa. The H2 is absolutely incredible, but it's a bit scary and very expensive....maybe a new scooter called the ZX-15 that has all the gadgets and gizmos that the Hayabusa has and in the same ballpark as the Hayabusa when it comes to sales price.

The best description or label I can put on it... long distance hypersportbike... 6 ... 7 hours in the saddle will not break you. Been sitting on ferries on trips with 30+ more bikes of all types. Pretty well the only one that draws attention is my zx14 special edition with the burnt orange candy colour. These are fantastic.

GREAT for you! I love my 2018 and thats coming from a owning a busa. If you are planning to change the exhaust I would recommend getting the full exhaust alien head 2 with pc5 and mapping from Brock Davidson. Believe me it adds more than just a little bit of performance and it sounds mean. You cant beat his systems in my opinion.

An excellent review of this legend of a bike, sure there's the H2S but it's smaller, then there's the new Busa but it's not so powerful, uncomfortable and not even suitable for touring. The ZZR 1400/ZX14 remains King!! Your fortunate enough to still have them available in the States, I was fortunate enough to get the last available one in Europe, the Performance Sport model with Brembo brakes, OHLIN suspension and Akrapovic exhausts. I also prefer the colour scheme on mine, sparkle black and gold sparkle Kawasaki green. The best motorcycles ever made, I've subbed so I can view your progress 👍

I've got a '21 as well. Bought it brand new, 1 mile on odo, also. I agree with everything you've said about the 14R.
Very, very sad news to announce, though; the day 14R fans have been dreading, is finally here. Kawasaki has their 2024 models up on their website, and the 14R ISN'T THERE!
The 14R was/is my dream bike. I wanted to buy mine brand new, so I didn't have to deal with problems that come with buying used. You never know if the previous owner (or ownerS) have beat the bike, didn't change the oil often enough, or do the scheduled maintenance, etc.
I love how she rides! The stock seat is the most comfortable stock seat I've ever ridden on. BUT, I go on LONG rides, and right around the 2 hour mark, my butt starts getting numb.
The suspension setup is excellent. Because she's kind of a heavy bike, if I hit a pothole on the freeway at speed, she stays totally stable and moves on like nothing happened. She does just fine through the twistys (even the hairpins!). And for those of you who have taken the MSF, I can do the figure 8 turn in the small bike parameters, on my 14R! It took practice, but I can do it!
    The power...
The horsepower and torque you get on this bike, from factory, is AWESOME! I've been riding since I was a little kid, so when I took delivery of my 14R, I immediately put it in Full Power mode, and haven't looked back.
If you aren't a newb, and you don't have a problem with whiskey-throttle, she's gentle enough at lower speeds, that you could go from a 600 Sportbike, to this (even in Full Power mode).
When you get into 1/2 throttle and above, at freeway speeds, though, it's like riding a missile! I'll be at freeway speeds, in 6th, come up behind a slow-poke that doesn't want to move, and all I have to do is give it a little twist of the Wrist (probably no more that 1/4 throttle) and I'M GONE! And I'm 220 lbs!
The ZX-14R rides so smoothly. It's truly a dream to ride.
As I said, she's my dream bike. I've got her paid off, and I'll never get rid of her. I'm going to get more bikes for the corral, for sure, but my 14R WILL ALWAYS be in my rotation.
So it's a sad, sad day that Kawasaki has finally decided that the 2023 ZX-14R is the last model year for "the king of the quarter mile".

    • @marcelofirmino3354
      @marcelofirmino3354  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you brother, indeed it is a sad day. I am hopeful though because I as well never want to see it go!

    • @Jeremiah_Johnson139
      @Jeremiah_Johnson139 ปีที่แล้ว

@@marcelofirmino3354 I'm pretty sure this is the end. Kawasaki is advertising their new "e-bikes" at the top of the page, above even the H-2's!
I like to think about it like this. The ZX-14R is one of the last naturally aspirated large displacement, motorcycles. Especially in a Sport/Super/Hyper bike set-up.
It's like being at the end of the 1960's having just bought a brand new Mustang Boss 429, just before the gas crisis in the 1970's.
Hold on to your 14R for dear life. With this massive push for electric, we'll never see large displacement motorcycles again!
Mark my words, big displacement Harleys and Honda Goldwings are next! After that, they'll come for the liter bikes! Kawasaki has already gotten rid of the 600 Sportbikes for 2024, too!

In 1986 I bought a brand new red ninja 1000 at Boston bike show, I was 25 and finally got my dream bike, back then it was one of the fastest vehicles on the road and I used every cc, I miss that bike, great design, balance, power, braking, even these bikes have very similar design, my new dream is the ,1400, it's long and kinda heavy, but I'm 62 now so that'd be perfect, smooth, powerful machines.

Yes, it is a super sport tourer as well as a hyper sport! For the purest Super Sport Tourer that is The Concours 14. I Love them both, but in different ways. The ZX is an absolute comfortable Beast, but its not really a tourer, thats the Connie, but the Connie is also a beast as well. You simply cant beat either but they are different. I have owned the ZX and now the Connie. For comfort the Connie is King, for all out Power the ZX is King.

For the 2022 year, the Busa and the ZX14r do offer a lot of bang for your buck. But as things are currently, the busa for the 2022 year has some really nice updated features that the zx14 hasn’t caught on to yet. In my perspective, I’ll always be a Kawi guy and will always try to stay true with the green. But man oh man does the busa hit the nail on the head this Generation. I guess we’ll see if the ZX14 can also be treated to an update for this coming year.

@@diego9040 There was a 2021 at the Kawasaki dealer near me, on the showroom floor, they had it listed for $15.500. I called the salesman and told him im bringing a bag of money and asked him how much? He called me back in 10 minutes and said $21.000.00. LOL. So i found a 2015 that has 1600 miles on it, spectacular beauty for $11.500, with yoshimuras on it. That beauty is sitting out there in my shop right now and i love it more than i ever dreamed i would. Ive got a Kawasaki Concours too.
