    The only reason I hate this movie is because they have glorified cheating and showed the wife as the villain. After death of mastani kashi was the one who took care of her son and raised him . Kashi's love for bajirao was much much greater than mastani's

      I think they are the ones who should grow up, not being able to understand the depths and layers is embarassing! I can't tell if they do not realise that Kashi is the legal wife while they are out here promoting infidelity. It takes maturity for Kashi to have confessed what is happening to Mastani, despite the pain that she is going through. I wonder if the reactors would take such a decision if they were in her shoes.

    Ok Mastani is not sweet she's just a girl who went behind a married man because she THOUGHT he married her. Kashi was the one who would wait for Bajirao for like eight months without suspecting him even a bit . She used to take care of his family and the state affairs behind his back and the reward she gets for doing this is the sight of her husband in some other girl's arms going absolutely crazy behind her sabotaging his marriage for a girl he met at a war .
    Guys here I'm just talking about Mastani and whatever she did Bajirao was obviously the one who created this mess and who hurt Kashi but remember Mastani also was not very innocent we can not ignore the fact that she went behind Bajirao even after knowing he was married.

    • @Nunyabisinas
      @Nunyabisinas 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +66

      Yup mastani and bajirao were assholes. Period. Now people would come at me and say times were different and blah blah. Yes, kings had multiple wives back then, but almost all of them were political marriages. The way they show it in this movie is that he fell in love with mastani and married her all at the same time saying he loves kashi too.. now that..that's just plain assholery from his side, you can't love two women at the same time. Its just lust. No matter how great of a warrior he was, it doesn't change the fact that he betrayed Kashi.

    I am honestly shocked that Kristen would say that Kashi should grow up. Kashi loved him and trusted him to be atleast honest with her. Yes it is a time period when people take multiple wives. But this is not a story of a man having two legal wives or marrying multiple times due to politics. Especially when it is implied that their people are mostly monogamous and Kashi expects a monogamous relationship with her husband as well. Here they are glorifying and beautifying infidelity! you have to understand that Mastani was not wedded in as a legal second wife. Bajirao carried out that affair for so long and kept Kashi in the dark while simultaneously drifting apart from kashi and neglecting her in many ways. Kashi loved him so innocently and unconditionally and believed that Bajirao loved her the same. He let her believe that as well. He could have come clean long time ago and honestly told her that he was taking a second wife even if it was not a legal wedding. Atleast that would mean he respected her enough to tell her the truth. No, he broke her trust and trampled on her pride.

    • @samhayet4286

      Not to mention... KASHI NEVER CONSENTED TO A PLURAL MARRIAGE! Mastani is an extremely immature, pathetically desperate, delusional, spoiled, entitled brat who *chooses* to obsessively chase after a married man, stubbornly latches onto him like a rabies-ridden dog, and keeps getting her way, no matter how many times she is told THIS IS NOT APPROPRIATE!
      The fact that she showed up, UNINVITED, to Ragunath's naming ceremony, sabotages it by making it all about herself, and tried to GASLIGHT everyone (INCLUDING KASHIBAI!) that it was all out of "respect" shows how insane and delusional she is!
      PS: Good thing there was no drinking game for everytime Mastani babbled on (and on and on and on...) about her so-called "mohabbat" and "ishq" or I would've died of alcohol poisoning!! 😭😭😭

    I don’t get why y’all telling Kashi to grow up when she’s acting the most mature out of the three main leads. Mastani straight up comes to the kingdom out of nowhere believing the Peshwa married her through the tradition. The Peshwa himself, is very flamboyant about their marriage as if it’s nothing controversial. In fact, both of them add fuel to the fire by their straight forward remarks and decisions instead of acting smart for their own good. On the other hand, Kashi inspite of feeling betrayed by the one she loves never conspirates against Mastani and doesn’t engage in any ill will towards them. Nor is she causing a commotion like others important members of the state and family. I seriously don’t know how you got that wrong about her.

    Kristen should notice that Bajirao - such a powerful figure in war and society, is many times ordered, controlled and stopped by his mother, in 1700's.
    This should tell Kristen that in Hindu culture women have a lot more respect and power. That's why Kashi also has so much respect and power. This respect is diminished when your husband brings a second wife.
    I guess such respect and power to women is not present in western culture, that's why Kristen cannot understand Kashi's decisions and sacrifices.

    • @samhayet4286
      @samhayet4286 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While women are put a on a pedestal in Hinduism, we shouldn't confuse it with "respect and power." Women have suffered a lot under Hinduism.
      Even in mythology, when Sita gets "rescued" after being kidnapped and traumatized, does Ram comfort her? No. he's so preoccupied with proving her so-called "chastity" that he further traumatizes her purely for his ego.
      And to add insult to injury, Ram was *never* required to prove his faithfulness during the separation!
      I def. do see where you're coming from though. I expect no better from a spoiled white girl who thinks it's "cute" to blatantly mispronounce a name she is not familiar with.

    While this is an accurate representation, but also a lot of context is missing as well. The insecurity of Brahmins or the rest of Peshwa Clan can be pinned on the treatment which was meted out to common Hindu people in general. This was a few years after death of Aurangzeb, who is notorious for demolishing temples, imposing tax on other religion's pilgrimage, persecuting Sikhs and their Guru. How Marathas were treated post Shivaji, especially Sambhaji who was tortured what would literally be a war crime today. I know this doesn't justify their hostility, but their fear of a Islamic takeover of Maratha empire at that time isn't misplaced. It would have been a five percent better movie if the director had shown that aspect of the story as well.
    Edit: this is just basic info what I've learned and people may disagree, but we have to sometimes accurately depict points of contention as big in this movie.

    This is the worst reaction to exist on this channel.
    Not saying y'all don't have the right to have an opinion, but an opinion without cultural context is meaningless.
    Even keeping aside the fact that Kashi was wronged, this story is based in an era where women didn't have the agency to speak in political matters, they were tasked with family welfare-so expecting Kashi to speak up for Mastani when she barely had autonomy over her own life is absurd.
    Now coming to the emotional aspect- Kashi was a woman who loved her husband wholly and trusted him-she'd been with him throughout, so for that woman to realize her husband had betrayed her and had made her look like a fool for trusting him had to be hard to swallow.
    Yet Kashi continued to do everything she was expected to do and even took care of Mastani's son after Bajirao and Mastani's death. Saying Kashi needed to 'grow up' is hella demeaning.
    This is in an era where divorce didn't exist and she had to live the rest of her life as the wife of the man who betrayed her as people spoke of him and his lover as the 'epitome of love'...
    Bajirao and Mastani's love was selfish-they carried on without regard for the people they hurt in the process...Kashi's love on the other hand was selfless and she honestly deserved better.
    Yes-the majority of the blame lies with Bajirao for creating this situation but Mastani wasn't entirely blameless either.
    The whole concept of 'all is fair in love' and 'love trumps all' is stupid.

    Im glad Kashi grew up too. Sh saw the hate Mastani got was uncalled for and came to show solidarity. Great character development.

    Kashi was not immature at all..she just had a playful nature..she was way too much good and mature for accepting Mastani in his husband's life..just think and keep yourself in her place what would you have done if your husband the man whom you love and respect the most would have brought another woman..I don't wanna say this but I really don't agree with what Kristen said about kashibai
    Had to edit this because I didn't even knew the name of the lady..Jaby shouldn't let her react to any other historical movies from now on I think

    What the hell does the first wife need to speak up for. For her betrayal for her husband's affection for a side piece, for what? Jeez
    The whole movie is crap glorifying cheaters and mistresses.

      True ..also not showing the reason for Hindus not accepting a Muslim.. context is missing .they are showing victims of Muslim oppression as villans ..typical bollywood thing

      It doesn't glorify anything. The Mc dies at the end without meeting the side chick. It's a tragic story about love.
