Just a good blu ray is all I ask. With all the original film grain. I can't believe there still is no good copy of that film. The only blu ray available looks terrible.
@@alechall7082 Criterion always does both now for the major releases. If it gets a new 4K scan and 4K disc they will put the downscaled 4K master on a normal 1080p Blu-Ray as well.
One of the best of Kubrick's films, the look of it, the lighting, sound, framing, the choice of music - atmosphere alone is masterful and drags you in. Story-wise it's logical no matter how one interprets what we see on the screen, a dream or not it all makes sense. I love his "classical stuff" but this modern late masterpiece is a beast of its own, sunset of the 20th and dawn of the 21th century summation of the atmosphere that brought us where we already were for quite some time and still continue to exist.
Just the pleasure of seeing all the Eyes Wide Shut hype in the comments... it's her best film, Tom Cruise's best film, and probably Kubrick's best film.
Desplat's Birth score is so good it could sell a 'Starring Seth Rogan' teaser. No disrespect to Nicole, she's unsurpassable. I literally paid to see Dogville 11 times at the movies.
I had to watch “Stepford Wives” for work last month. It looked cute, but I felt like there was something missing. Maybe if the previous film was available, I could find out what it was.
The first time I saw Nicole Kidman was in BMX Bandits at the Odeon Marble Arch! Even the massive 75-foot (23 m) by 30-foot (9.1 m) screen couldn’t save it. It’s the worst movie I’ve ever seen at the cinema-and I’ve been watching at least five movies a year since 1975. Who knew she would go on to become one of the great actresses of the modern era? Back then, the only thing that stood out about her in that movie was her ginger hair. Maybe it was the poor script. 😁 Anyway, viva Nicole Kidman! Her best films were between 1993 and 2003, when she could still truly emote: To Die For, The Others, Dogville, etc.
For anyone who has yet to see it, Birth is an underrated film. Please do yourself a favor and watch it.
that's a film i didn't get the first time around but i want to re-watch it.
40% on rotten tomatoes?? That’s extremely low. For reference, The Room has a 24%
The 4K disc of Eyes Wide Shut, come on now.......
Just a good blu ray is all I ask. With all the original film grain. I can't believe there still is no good copy of that film. The only blu ray available looks terrible.
I know, right? A 4K restoration of Eyes Wide Shut is #1 on my wish list. Just take my money, just take my money!

no no no no no no no no no..... a 4K UHD/blu-ray box set of ALL OF STANLEY KUBRICKS FILMS!
"Eyes Wide Shut" director's cut.
Her work in To Die For is absolutely incredible.
CRITERION EYES WIDE SHUT 4K CONFIRMED!!!
Give it now!!!
Incredible
Saw The Paperboy recently. Haven't been so affected/disturbed by a movie in a long time. A very distinct vision. And Kidman is incredible in it.
The most disturbing was super nice guy in every movie is a total sicko. John Cusack. Whoa 😳
Nicole Kidman is iconic.
such beauty, such talent. i was blown away by her in "the others"
Would love a Criterion of Eyes Wide Shut
Eyes Wide Shut absolutely needs a Criterion physical release!
OMG Birth a true masterpiece. Nicole at her best using the power of her eyes to show emotions..... greatest actress IMO
Eyes wide shut = masterpiece

Kubrick thought it was his greatest cinematic achievement. Most days I'm inclined to agree with him.
Need Dogville in there also
to die for yess!!!!
BMX Bandits was her opus.
criterion edition of BMX Bandits!
One of the most beautiful women ever 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️

It should be a crime that EYS is not a Criterion release. You can buy Micheal Bay’s Armageddon but not Eyes Wide Shut.
I wish there was more of her in The Hours. And, of course, as always, Julianne Moore dominates the film.
Anyone know what song is used in this trailer
Sounds like something from Philip Glass's the hours soundtrack
It’s the score from Birth, one of the best scores ever recorded.
the stepford wives but not the others? OKAY!
Agreed. The Others is the better movie. The original Stepford 1975 was supirior as well.

a queen of the cinema... when are we going to get her and naomi watts to do a good buddy comedy? we're overdue for one.

The original Stepford Wives is on TH-cam: th-cam.com/video/UiqinUpRQgU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4x_UEvM2HZV3xn3m
Omg you have to watch the original film, it's so good
Lookin forward to catching baby girl

Has Criterion seen Aquaman?
Dearest Criterion, PLEASE release remastered 4K transfers of BIRTH and DOGVILLE. Please 🙏 Criterion ❤.
I never really gave a rat's ass about the weather.
