    Thanks for watching!
The 4 pieces of gear I used in this video are (I don't really do affiliate links but the cage, hard drive, and drive holder were all purchased from amazon.)
    1. Iphone 15 pro max
    2. Small Rig Brandon Li Edition Cage
    3. Neewer T7 holder (screws into cage to hold external drive)
    3. Samsung T7 Drive

So at the end you have a camera aprox the size of a regular camera. All the benefits of a small compact smartphone that easily fits into your pocket is gone. I prefer to shoot ProRes internally - using the Blackmagic camera app, you can easily shoot 4K60 ProRes in Apple Log internally. Just my 2 cents - and no offense.

I want to try this with my Pixel 8 Pro. I want to start a channel and be able to have a small set up to take anywhere with my camera gear.

Pixel 8 is on my list of cameras I want to test on this channel! Hopefully I can get my hands on one, I’ve heard good things and seen a few comments recommending it

@@RanftEvan so far I have enjoyed it a lot. It captured the recent Northern Lights very well. I am still experimenting with the video capabilities. I hope you end up making a video with it!

Gotta connect a good shotgun mic for serious sound

Does that rig work on any other phone? I've been using my 13 for video. One day I will get enough guts to publish. I have about half a dozen Samsung 4tb drives storing file backups (white gaff tape is awesome for labeling those things) but I really never thought about connecting directly to my phone.

I think they make mace versions for other phone but I’m not 100% sure about this specific one. The small rig ones seemed to be on the pricey end but I was impressed by the build quality. The hard drive for me makes this whole thing worth it. Speeds up workflow tremendously and I problem should have elaborated on the importance of that more in this video

Can you compare this to the DJI Osmo Pocket 3? Is the quality and purpose the same as having an iphone 15 pro max?

Can I ask you questions that will help answer yours?
Does the fact that the matrix in OP3 is larger mean nothing?
The fact that the OP3 uses large mechanical stabilization, and not simple electronic stabilization, can we not pay attention to this?
Is it more convenient to shoot with a smartphone or a camera designed for this? I mean not only how it fits in the hand, but also the controls.
And abroad, in a foreign country, would you prefer to drop and break (or otherwise lose) a camera or smartphone, as the only means of communication and device that provides access to other important services?

I have a feeling the updates to video will continue to get better but it could eventually be a software thing so you wouldn’t even have to buy the latest and greatest to get the benefits. That’s me speculating though so we shall see

Hi Evan. I bought your photo book about 5 months ago, and I still haven’t gotten it. I’m not sure how to get in touch with you or anyone really, I’ve only gotten no reply emails.

Hey there. First off I’m very sorry to hear that. This unfortunately happens sometimes with orders especially international. I’ve worked with a few customers this year to get issues resolved but the task list for those issues has been clear for a while now. I haven’t received any emails or this would have been looked into immediately. Please do me a favor and send another message to me through the contact page on my website or through an instagram DM. Please include the order number so I can find where the issue took place in shipping and get you a new copy.

The results are undoubtedly impressive but no, not for me. A phone has to be 100% portable and without all this fiddling around: a variable ND is the one exception. Otherwise, most camera offer so much more without all the hassle, the awkwardly dangling cables, the lack of, for instance, a physical zoom lens, a hdmi out, a hot shoe, etc etc. Even the Pocket 3, for all its fiddly oddness, offers a bigger sensor and fits in the cavity in your back tooth, or as near as. Phone rigs, while interesting, feel like a distraction to me, as if the whole advantage of shooting on a phone (and there are a great many disadvantages too) was being lost in the mix.

I was inspired by your video and decided to make a rocket out of an iron.
Your design is missing a stabilizer and a microphone.
The stabilizer is even better in the Z axis, like Ronin 4D
Seriously, is there not enough cameras on the market?!
What is the point of this nonsense? Save money?
    Do something compact?
    Does this provide convenience?
Does it bring any interesting features?
Does this piece of shit take better pictures than a normal camera?
