      As you can see, even on your map from the video, Peles Castle is in not in Transylvania, but in Wallachia (Sinaia town). You can visit also the other regions of Romania, I invite you to Iasi, in Moldova region.

      We realize that Peles and Sinaia are in Wallachia - we showed it on the map in the beginning of the video as not in Transylvania. I don't think we ever said it was explicitly in Transylvania, but can see how that could be misinterpreted.

      Yes, you're perfectly right! Thank you, i think that it was a misunderstanding ! Mea culpa! There are so many foreign tourists and they made this kind of mistake, to mix it up the both region and put Peleș Castle in region of Transilvania .
      Nice of you two to pay attention to detail.
      Transylvania region begins from Brașov. Thank you again!

    Papanasi are always made fresh, so there's no way to have them fast. Even if the dough is ready, it takes a bit to cook - don't order them if you're in a hurry :)

    They have to actually cook the papanasi so it's not super reasonable to expect instant service. And one of the ingredients of the dough is cottage cheese so it's not really a doughnut.

    That Peleș castle is also my favorite from Romania. I like even where the castle is placed. 🤩
    Thing is.. with like 7 (to maybe 10) minutes of driving (from Sinaia).. you could have also visit Bușteni (a small town) that also holds around it.. a castle named the Cantacuzino castle (google it even for curiosity sake). Not as imposing as the Peleș castle.. but still beautiful enough.. and also with a beautiful view to some mountains 🤩 (when staying in front of the castle) / It is worth visiting too. 👍

    There are no ready-made Papanasi. They are cooking those from scratch for each and every order. There is no way those Papanasi can last more than a 20 minutes in a plate and keep their savor and freshness and taste. This is why you were told the desert is getting there later, not because it's "European". It's just made fresh.

    I have been there. It is not a castle. Castles are defensive, this is offensive. It's a dark, gloomy, depressing, over the top tasteless shortlived palace. Romania is a beautiful country, full of interesting historical architecture; this is a blot on the landscape.

  • @serendipity8715

    Nah, never complain about the service at a restaurant/cafe unless it waw really bad. You could have just requested them to get the desserts then n there, explaining you're getting late for the castle. Simple. Instead, you chose ro savor n enjoy the service and yet complain, eveh though not directly. Not cool!

    I love Romania, I had some really great time there some years ago. I agree that Peleş Castle is the most beautiful in the country as a package, especially its interior is amazing (if only exterior were seen, I would say that Corvin Castle in Hunedoara is even better). It looks like a Bavarian or Black Forest Romantic Castle as people from Germany built it. Sadly you didn't show the Pelişor nearby (its exterior is very special, incredible) as it is only some steps away from Peleş, just like an interesting restaurant in Medieval style (and maybe even food?). I am looking forward to your next videos from this beautiful country, your map of the roadtrip at the beginning looks very promising with some amazing sights in the way.

    • @dacian_1346
      @dacian_1346 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Corvin Castle was actually built by the Hunyad family, so not German.

    • @Ojstra
      @Ojstra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@dacian_1346, Bavarian or Black Forest Romantic Style Castle referred only to Peleş and Pelişor in Carpathians. I wrote that Corvin Castle's exterior is even better than Peleş's in my opinion (but Peleş has one of the most amazing interiors I have ever seen in any castle). I know that Corvin Castle was built by the Hunyad family and that Matthias Corvinus was King of Hungary and Croatia, born in Transylvania in Cluj-Napoca that was part of Hungary at that time (until 1920 when it became a part of the Kingdom of Romania). Vajdahunyad Castle in Budapest also has one element of Corvin Castle in itself (as one-third of the building, I think).

    • @KeepGoingPlaces
      @KeepGoingPlaces  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Agreed, specifically the interior of Peleş Castle is one of the best we've seen in the world. We love the traditional looking castles with a moat, drawbridge and all, but this one as a package is just stunning. Glad you're looking forward to the series; we have about 7 more videos coming up from Transylvania :)

    • @Zdamaneta
      @Zdamaneta 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Peles Castle was not built by Transylvanian Saxons, it was built in late 19th century in Wallachia by the king of Romania. The people who worked at the construction of the castle were from lots of ethnicities not just germans, there were also romanians, hungarians, czechs, englishmen, poles, frenchmen, italians and a few more.

    • @Ojstra
      @Ojstra 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Zdamaneta, this is all true but this King of Romania (Carol I, Karl of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, for whom Peleş Castle was built) was a German, originally from Baden-Württemberg, and that's why he wanted to have a castle in German architectural styles of the time of the Romanticism in the 19th century, similar time to Ludwig's II reign in Bavaria.

I went with my wife for the first time in 2017 when we too visited Brasov, Peles Castle, Tranfargarsen, Bran and Busteni. Such beautiful places, our favourites so far. You should also visit the coast too if you havent already. Constanta is really nice and Mamaia. For somewhere less busy Neptun (where we stayed).

      David Ellis, in the Vlad Impaler's birth house (in amazing Medieval town of Sighişoara), it is intentionally spookier with on-off light moments and someone is lying/sleeping in a coffin to scare you when you approach there. Around the Bran Castle (known as Dracula's Castle although Vlad III. never lived there), it is amazing village with shops and a haunted house - there must be really amazing around the Halloween time with all parties and masks, I believe.

    There are other castles in Sinaia. Right next to the Peleș Castle, it's the Pelișor Castle, also built by Carol I, that is now used as residence for the royal family, but you should have taken some pictures of the outside, also a beautiful architecture! Right after the Pelișor Castle, it's the Foișor Castle, but I don't know if it's open for visitors, as it also belongs to the royal family.
    And near the center of the town, is the much smaller Știrbey Castle, a museum.
    I'm gonna have to check all that when I get there.....
