Time to see if the new Talion V3 from ARRMA can hit the claimed 70mph+ as printed on the box. I'm using the option 20T pinion that is supplied with the car changed the connectors to XT150 which is what I use with all my 1/8 scale vehicles.

This car looks like so much fun. So versatile too. Lower it for stable speed runs or put it back up and bash with the truggys and monster trucks. I love my Maxx but I think I'll add this one once they revise it this summer.

ARRMA is my go to brand for a basher! I am so grateful that you did the review on the Gen 1 Kraton way back in the day, your review is what convinced me to purchase the Arrma brand and take a chance on them and I have never looked back. Even though I never had a problem with my Gen 1 ESC originally Arrma did have some issues with their electronics but they stood behind their product and everyone I know who did have any issues Arrma replaced every ESC no questions and with that proved to me they were an exceptional company to deal with in my opinion. I still own and run that Gen 1 Kraton although it now has been upgraded from front to back and is even better than the current version being sold the only way I will get rid of that truck is if I get out of completely. I also run the Senton SCT which is stupid fast with a Mamba X and Tekin T8 sensored motor. I wish Castle had rolled out their sensored motors at the same time they rolled out the Mamba X ESC after purchasing The Tekin motors I am not going to buy new motors until these give up the ghost and that will be a couple of years or more it is much more economical to rebuild than buy new but eventually it gets to a point were your forced to buy new then I will try the Castle sensored motors. Of course if Castle wants to send me a couple of sensored motors I would love to do a review series on a head to head match up Castle vs Tekin and post it on my lol TH-cam channel...that would be an awesome way to get my channel up and running....hint hint Castle....lol great vid my friend, I cannot believe how much Noah has grown up...dang what ya feeding him...lol how is your daughter doing? You need to have them do another race war against each other...those were a blast to watch brother and sister whipping on each other...lol

Great video, Vas! Couldn't believe how stable it was at high speeds. Seemed very controllable and undramatic. Got my Typhon in the mail last Monday and i freaking love it! Still running the stock pinion at the moment to get a feel for the car as it's my first 1/8 scale 4WD buggy. After watching this, i think this is my next rc.

Hey vas i was wondering what would be a good 6s graphene lipo pack for the kraton v2 and a good charger for it cheers mate
loved this video for this version of talion, i just doubt if it will be good for bashing since body is originally very low, but speed wise this beast is just worth the money you paid for... i want to through proline wheels on this and test it on the BMX .. so keen to see the results..thanks vas 👍👏
Got this car a week ago and i love it pn 2x3s 5k mah 50c gens batteries with stock gears waiting on my other pinions atm. One question tho out of the box the front camber looks realy aggressive how do i adjust it i can only see links for the steering

I was all set on getting a Kraton but seems people can't push it much past 60mph at a stretch... I only get an adrenaline rush from really high-speed passes, so think the Talion might do the trick...

I've gotta say.....I'm liking the look of this car more and more also, each time I see it. I'm really looking forward to the Bash video. It almost seems a shame to have to put it thru its paces on that BMX track, but hey, we've gotta find out if this bullet lives up to its reputation like it has so far.

ARRMA is Team Durango’s sister company, however, Team Durango no longer exist. The original Talion/Kraton were very much the same as the DEX8T because they were based on that platform. This new Talion is very different and chassis layout has now changed which makes the Talion its own car and no longer just an alternative version of the Kraton. I don’t believe the Talion would share many parts with the old DEX8T as it now has a number of unique parts. So no, I don’t believe this is a “rebranded” anything, this is its own car.

Bloody hell thats stable. I cant even get my max8 combo berserker to full throttle on 4s. How did you lower it? shock position and preload or just droop stops?

Yeah, this car is locked in at speed, not a hint of being uncontrollable. Really easy to drive.

I wish I lowered with the droop screws. 'Lowered' it by preloading. Mine wasn't near as stable and controllable as Aussie RC's. Mine does a wheelspin even in excess of 55 mph. Can't ease the throttle on enough :D I hit 68 mph / 109 kph when I cancelled the run. But it was still accelerating when I hit the brakes. Next time I use the droop screws.
*Update* new personal best with the Talion is now @ 73.6 mph / 118,5 kph.
Top Notch iv droped mine as low as it can go still can’t get fall throttle with out it lifting and wheel spinning looks a lot faster in real life then on video
@@martyncrease8289 as I read your comment, I must admit the following although not sure: Seems like the quality of the tarmac has something to do with it. When I tried my first speed runs with it, I also had a lot of wheelspin but no lifting with the stock wheels. For some time now I get nice and stable full throttle runs out of it with the 20T and stock wheels. Maybe this helps: Lower front with droop screws and lift up the rear so it has kind of a wedge shape. This way wind will give downforce on the whole body. It really shouldn't lift with stock tires. Of course you have to ease it on somewhat. Full throttle off the line also flips a Talion with stock wheels. From time to time I also run Monstertruck wheels - now those tend to lift the front up if not careful. But even with those I could get the Talion up to full speed (around 69 mph). Feel free to check my vids on this matter if you like :) My new personal best with the Talion is now 73.8 mph (Monstertruck wheels and downhill).

Took mine to the beach on 16T with a 6S and damn. Debating if I want to try on more tooth on the pinion or not. Need a temp gun. 13T the motor didn't even get warm. It was hot on 16T, but not horrible. I use a little pump spray bottle with water on the motor a few times during battery changes, and it helps cool it down FAST! Did break a rear shock mount screw, but it was a fluke with the way it landed just right on a hardish dune. Love it so far...see no reason to keep any other vehicles in my fleet...
Zman Huber, when I race mine on a track with 13T, the motor gets really hot quickly. A few laps and it's at 75°C. Then I let it cool down.

Is not you bro, it’s that RC is not cheep and you have to think how many people can by a RC, so to get into it is to be able to drive one and see how it really is.. watching and driving is very different.

limitless rc it really is a grey area though, aviation rules apply to drones/aircraft, kind of glad that the authorities haven’t given cars as much attention. In a nutshell, I guess it pays to be a good ambassador for your sport.
R Soul yeah. Which for me it could be that I live in a really small farming town with 2 police officers and not even a single stoplight, so a lot of things out pd doesn't care about.
limitless rc that is definitely a factor among many others, I suppose the potential of an RC car is far less than that of a drone vs an aircraft. Regardless, I hope I don’t give oxygen to those trying to stop our shenanigans. Try not to have too much fun mate! 👍
Wow! Amazing! I can't believe it did a 22mph jump from 4s to 6s. Clearly it has alot to do with aerodynamics at those high speeds. I have never had more than a 12mph on any car from 4s to 6s. Nice video 👍👍

Hi Aaron, I think the higher the gear ratio the bigger the gap becomes between 4S and 6S. Which would explain the 22mph jump with a 20T pinion.

Traxxas is ok.. I have the maxx and xmaxx and they are bad ass... the only issue I had was with the maxx and the cheap ass driveshafts it came with broke them 3 timesand finally went with the metal ones but paid 120 for them, also bought the widemaxx kit .. now it is bad ass.. but My arrma granite blx 3 s and senton are bad ass stock ...arrmas plastic driveshafts are actually bad ass.. the only traxxas I would buy are the Maxx and my bad ass xmaxx... the xmaxx is my favorite out of all my 16 rc vehicles.....but in all honesty I would go with arrma in everything else.... arrma is bad ass and at a reasonable price ..traxxas is just not worth the extra money..
Now I want one but will Arrma be releasing a new kraton anybody know??

27T Pinion, possibly 80mph ?
Can only fit a max of 25T pinion, to use a 27T you'll need a different motor mount or use the 46T spur out of the Infraction. But to answer your question, yes, I don't see why not. The Infraction hit 84mph with the 27T pinion, so it's very possible to hit 80 in this car.

I dont think its a 20t. I think you have it on a 22t. With the 20t i only reached 65mph. Unless you have maxamps batteries then you'll probably get 70 with the 20t
Mine did 68mph with 20T. But it wasn't a clean run I must say. I've got a video on it. *Update* mine reached 71.6 mph with 20T with a 5000mAh 50c 6s and 73.6 mph so far with a 29T.
You should try with out the wing you may go even faster

Maybe the RC Hobby just isn't for you. Try collecting stamps, it's much safer.
