In '83' I ran a pub in Oxfordshire I stocked my jukebox with my somewhat eclectic records and only proper tunes made it. This was one and how we danced.
The negativity isn’t directed so much to the music rather towards him personally. There is a feeling amongst many the he cynically rode the left-wing sentiments amongst many young people in the UK during the 1980s. That is exploited financially this but turned out to be just as big a Capitalist as those he was supposedly decrying. Added to this are the allegations of seemingly random violent outbursts and rumours of domestic violence directed towards his first wife, Dee C Lee.
Saw The Jam, TSC and him in his early solo days but I just can’t anymore. Dialling in passionless performances to finance his divorces and turning into what he once despised.
If he was doing it for the cash alone he would have reformed The Jam before now. Bruce always wanted it and probably still does, Rick might be a more difficult prospect but that would be where the money is.
@@Me-gy7yk he always said his kids would have to be in the gutter to reform The Jam. I suppose he has it both ways as he is always seen as never having sold out by having the balls to split The Jam at the top and to never having reformed them but then again can still make a pound note by releasing awful dross like 66 and bang out a few Jam and TSC numbers in his live set. Fair play to him I suppose but it’s just not for me.

Weller had out grown The Jam and wanted to go in a different direction. You can still still see bits of the band but they are stuck in late 70s and early 80s.

One of the best songs ever. Paul Weller knew how to write a song for the ages.
Music with a conscience. Love it!

Paul Weller = Top Geezer
Lov it melice!!.. 😎🤩❤️🙏
Thanks for the upload. Great camera work
Love this tune ❤❤❤❤❤
JAM stuff was his best by far
Nah. The Jam were good, but Wildwood and Stanley Road were his peak. He wrote great singles in the Jam, he wrote great albums in the 90s.
What a sad little life you must lead....
Sounds fab to me....many a night on the town for me.. whiskey a gogo..Starwood..civic auditorium..
Miss them far away Dayz

Wait until Oasis reunite. After a few gigs, they’ll be dialling it in.
