Sadly outside of the UK Weller and The Jam are not well known. I was an Alternative DJ in the US so he was huge in my circle. In the UK this song has a rare place in the hearts of a certain generation of British youth, now middle-aged or pensioners. I can say, with joy, that I have done the 11:35 pm run to catch the last tube just as most UK youth of that era did. Weller is a legend. That's Entertainment defined that generation.

When I watch this brilliant performance of two very influential people in my life, it makes me wonder what the band would have been if they were both part of it? Any true Jam appreciator will know that Weller was at his pinnacle when in The Jam. He has done a lot of above average songs but it pales compared to the concentrated hits of The Jam. Noel has followed suit since the early days of Oasis. This is not a belly ache, it's a huge thank you for leaving permanent tattoos upon my soul.

It was Teardrop Explodes, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Jam at the top, The sound, Joy division, The stranglers, John Cooper Clarke, The Clash, The cure and psychadelic furs. Such a sound of Liverpool music flowing out and upstairs at Eric's. Wouldn't have been the same without them. Cheers for the energetic free-flowing incredible music and all the good memories.
