Quite simply the master.of his generation. Outlasted or outlived his peers, putting out incredible and smart material. Punk, rock, power pop, pop, jazz, soul...you name it. As much as I love Strummer, Weller just made more music for a longer period.
This was a time that English music had really reached such a zenith that it was encompassing so many styles - Rock, Salsa, Jazz, Soul, country..... Just amazing! such a shame that America & the rest of the world never really got it!

I recently passed my driving test. This is my favourite driving tune. Puts me totally in the zone. The best of Weller and The Jam has been on more less repeat for six months. This and C'mon let's go for miles and miles.🤣

Weller is one of the few performers that are so much better live than in the studio. The studio versions never really did him justice.
