I'd really love a video like this for each role - I know you're a support player, but man it's so helpful. My team pretty much always asks me what to build, and I don't always have good answers if we've had a break in the game (Like just now, S5 is waaaay different) Edit: I'm happy to see that this build turned out pretty much the way I've been doing it, yay!
Just wanna say, thanks so much for the quality support content. You've been like, my idol of SMITE since I started maining guardians and you always provide incredible information. Thanks so much!
Is oni hunters garb a 5% mitigation or 15? You said fifteen, but the description says five, so I just wanted to clarify in case it was a simple mistake
Been there. In my experience, picking a god that has very obvious setup in the support role seems to work relatively well. Take Nox, for example; if you hit a Nox 2/1 combo, it's going to be pretty hard for your adc to miss their abilities or basics, and it will be very apparent who the target is. Same sort of thing with gods like Ne Zha or Sylvanus; it's very obvious who you're targeting and they have good setup that hopefully makes it very clear to the adc who they should be killing. That's just my experience, though.
HI INCON! Hey 2 quick questions.. 1. Why not start with health chalice? 2. Why do should you not forgo thiebs and just get sov after boots? Thank you and I look forward to your reply!
Dusty Krance Dusty Krance 1. As a Support, you have higher stats in defense, so youre taking less damage overall, as opposed to your duo lane partner, your Guardians Blessing is going to restore +7 health and mana for every assist you get (additionally, you need assists to stack the Blessing) so it helps you sustain as well. There are a also a number of supports that have abilities to heal as well (Sylvanus, Amaterasu, Nike’s Ability 2 Passive, etc.) 2. The earlier you build Thiebs to stack the better (same rules as every stacking item such as Book of Thoth, Warlocks Staff, etc.). Every stacking item should be built early because as soon as it hits late game it’ll become tougher. I hope i helped!
Hello friend! (Note this is my opinion, as I'm going to contradict a little of what Incon is saying) Thebes is super good when fully stacked. As incon said, though, it totally sucks as an initial buy, and it takes some time to stack. If you're playing a pretty aggressive, high pressure support, it might be better to forego the thebes and pick up sov instead because of this. Sov is 300 gold cheaper (I think, I might be wrong on the exact number), and you get its effects immediately. If the opposing support decided to go thebes and you went sov, then you have this big window of time where you're way tankier than them (and thanks to auras, so is your team), which lets you keep the pressure up and potentially snowball the game.
I usually try to go hybrid ones or situational ones like if I'm playing with a Artemis I would usually go gem of isolation so she could do more damage and gem of isolation is a damage
Vivek Anand Solo lane builds are always almost always are situational. For example, if youre opponent is Physical and builds Void Shield to lower your Physical Defense, you should build Jade Emperors Crown to lower your opponents Physical Power while also getting Magical Power and Physical Defense with that same item. Or if youre going against a Nike with Stone of Gaia, you can build Pestilence to cut her healing by 25%. Additionally, you could build Divine Ruin to further reduce her healing by another 40%. As said, its all about counter building. To be on the safe side, you can build 1. Shoes of Magi/Focus 2. Breastplate of Valor 3. Jade Emperors Crown 4. Mystical Mail 5. Void Stone 6. Witch Blade/Winged Blade. This is a rough build & it may not be viable. Remember, your Solo build is not going to remain the same the entire match and will change as soon as laning phase is over and you start getting more into team fights. I hope I helped!
As with all situational items, it's team dependent and therefore situational. You can't create a cookie cutter build using anti-heal unless the meta is pure healing
Instead of double chalice, try mana chalice+ (multi or mana) potion. Multi is going to restore both Health and Mana for half of the full potion naturally restores. Mana potion is going to restore the natural amount (+6). You double use Mana Chalice and Mana Potion you will get a total of 300 Mana over 25 sec. if you double use Mana and Multi you will restore 225 Mana and 125 Health over 25 sec. if you dont sustain well, then I recommend Multi+MChalice. If you just run out of Mana quick I recommend Mana+MChalice.
Personally, I never go the double chalice start without going meditation. Sure it's not the greatest active, but it let's me and my adc get lane pressure since we can use abilities without having to worry about running out of mana. I'm going to respectfully disagree with GmL here; in my opinion, the mana chalice is simply a bad item. In order to get value out of it, you have to use it 6 or more times ,and really the only time you need it is in laning phase. After your first back it's essentially useless in my experience unless you're playing Hel (maybe artio?). If you're having mana problems and don't want to start med, I would suggest health chalice/pots in one slot and mana pots in the other. In no scenario would I want to go multi pots and mana pots; starting that means you're not going to be able to box since you won't be using health pots to sustain through the enemy's damage. SO you lose lane pressure anyway, and then there's definitely no point in having the mana chalice. But, of course, this is just my opinion. :)
I'm an athena main I do the glowing emerald and guardian blessing shoes of focus start and then I usually end up going sovereignty but occasionally I also like the stone of binding if youre a cc support for that 10 pen buff. Especially since on Athena you taunt them into your 3 and it has the 10 pen buff. so if you have a guardian that does cc before damage(like even artios cripple or stun before) might be good to have the stone of binding cause its cheap and 30 of each protection stacked with gauntlet that's 90. Im on ps4 if anybody ever wants to play I'm DeathCupcake666 feel free too add me and just say youtube or something lol.
iv always wondered if he notices hes doing it, like when his eyes close he would lose vision and things right? because when he plays he plays like its not happening at all, its quite fascinating

You are eloquent, and that's underrated Incon! I knew it already but forgot to tell you.
You forgot to mention Vulcan Con was a surprise guest!!!!! Very Nice guide as always! Keep up the good work and streams!
Amazing guide! Thank you =)
Reinforced for sobek? To offset the fact that your usually in the middle of everyone after plucking.
Would stone of giaia be situational?
Oni's Hunter Garb gives 5% mitigation, not 15%. Would that still make that worth?
Love the video, keep these coming!
Is oni hunters garb a 5% mitigation or 15? You said fifteen, but the description says five, so I just wanted to clarify in case it was a simple mistake
ztsb45 it’s 5. Old passive was 15 with conditions
5% its SO little (or few, not native eng). I think it is cheap but useless item
5% might not seem like much but it adds up quickly, and stacks with other sources of mitigation like Spirit Robe, or Cabrakan's Shadow Zone.
It's especially good if they built a lot of pen
Ravana (after his ult, and while under Athena's ult and Cabra's passive + with Spirit robe and Oni's) has 70% mitigation) wow xD
Super Duper helpful :) Thanks man
But how do I build to sup carry a potato hunter

Just pick a high pressure support that doesn't need a lot of help to pressure the lane and safely farm.
Definitely do more of these kinds of videos

GmLs Clown Yes! Thank you! I just noticed Emilzy goes chalice and sov not thiebs and just didnt understand it.. anyway you're amazing GmL Clown cheers

Have you tried artio start warriors blessing and tier 1 jade crown you get alot of protections and can get alot of pressure level 1
Thank you Incon.
So as in intermediate new player to Smite, is their ever a moment when a gaurdians builds damage or is it strictly defense/sustain/ and auras?
I usually try to go hybrid ones or situational ones like if I'm playing with a Artemis I would usually go gem of isolation so she could do more damage and gem of isolation is a damage
Wheres Tahuti?!
what happened to double jungle? rip support carry
where's the magus n' poly
Incon you the man
I'm planning to go Solo Ymir. What do I need to change from this?

Thank you very much, this is really helpful
Nemean?
Why don't they make it to where Athena can use her ult on wards? Cause she is so much fun but it sucks not having an ult on duel
What about anti heal? (Pestilence)
Jordan Reddick I would swap out Heartward for it if they have like a Hel or something.
As with all situational items, it's team dependent and therefore situational. You can't create a cookie cutter build using anti-heal unless the meta is pure healing
Anti-Heal falls under situational. No point in building it unless you're playing against a healer (Aphro, Hel, Chang'e, etc)
I guess the reason i asked was because the typhoons fang annd Bancrofts talon meta.
One reason could be that most solo laners build it now and antiheal will be helpful in team fights where support can bring other auras to help
Playing support isn't the problem, supports just don't get enough "motivation" from their teams
You... Are a very smart smite player. i feel like that all of the time lmao
I run out of Mana so fast in lane when I run the double chalic guardian blessing start, either way I have Mana problems

thx 4 this
I don't usually get boots on my guardians idk why I get them for every other class just don't feel like boots are worth it for some guardians
Can you name which ones specifically
+Incon I've seen you go Urchin Hide quite a few times. Why isn't that in here?
jayce hardy because of Thebes
if you think your gunna snowball or get a lot of kills then go urchin then thebes, otherwise thebes is just always the way to go
Thanks guys!
Weeeee hi Incon
Basically what I was building on my supports since mid of season 4... XD
Toru Ryuichi , yeah, but then Thebes were not so OP like now. The additional protection from stacks is very powerfull
Teodor Bujorean yeah.. It wasn't that OP.. it was just a good item.. So still worth to me to get it into a support aura build :D
nice vid
thanks for doing this guide, but everybody is doing support build guides. Could you make an ADC build guide please? Thank you!
So Talisman of Energy works on minions and jungle creeps? I thought it only worked on enemy gods...
Yeah it does. I think it's almost a must buy in arena :P
i like it
honest question.. wtf is wrong with incon's eys?
He has a mild form of tourettes that manifests itself in facial movements. He is currently on Tenex.
iv always wondered if he notices hes doing it, like when his eyes close he would lose vision and things right? because when he plays he plays like its not happening at all, its quite fascinating
Dude u need some sleep or something YOURE EYES NEED IT
He's not blinking because of that
STOP B L I N K I N G
Im pretty sure he has a tick or something man, i can see where your coming from though
He has Touretts
Or you take Athena with mage's blessing and curse, go shoes of magi -> voidstone, give your team 2-5 kills early and snowball ^^
Thywaz Athena?with two dmg abilities mages?im buying sobek or ares with mages but Athena?
Because she already hurts, it just adds what you need to give your adc the kills... If you have one tho
